This is the first GBM Clip. My intention here is to make certain sections of longer videos more accessible to viewers. For example, the Olympic-Hawke collision is buried in a 17+ minute video which makes it difficult to find. I hope you like this idea, but let me know if you have any feedback or requests for future clips.

Fun fact: HMS Hawke was later sunk in WW1 by the submarine U-9 (which also famously sank 3 British armored cruisers on 22 September 1914) on 15 October 1914, with the loss of 524 crew. ... Wait, that's not fun. Eh, the more you know.

I wish to find out more on the concrete and steel beak that was fitted to Hawke designed to inflict serious damage to enemy shipping by ramming . The device itself was sheered of when the Olympic and Hawke broke apart and wonder if it had been found or any information on the positioning of the device on the bows .

You're not really supposed to use 'the' in front of a ship's name regardless. It's just so ingrained into our vernacular that it's difficult to drop the habit.

@@TheGreatBigMove At least not nowadays. I know Paul Lee has commented on the fact that prior to the Cameron film, people called it "the" _Titanic_ and that after the film (though presumably not _because_ of the film) we now just say _Titanic_

No-one so far commented on the crap navigation of the Hawke. What the hell was that idiot doing trying to overtake Olympic on that side when he never had the speed, was bound to find himself short of room, and in any event was heading for Portsmouth which was way off on Olympic`s port side?

To say the least, the video shows that it wouldn`t have taken much for it not to happen. Such appalling navigation from the Hawke, almost makes you think it was a deliberate hit. At last we have a video that actually shows us how it happened, the Shocking Truth one is inaccurate in that Hawke was never at any time ahead of Olympic.
