These are some of the first few lyrics And after that, the Taxi Driver responded with "Allahuakbar" and "Boy you need a prayer" Which pictures that the driver is a muslim and he told him to pray and maybe to find some enlightenment "It's a bad religion" "Ooh-ooh-hoo, this unrequited love" "To me, it's nothin' but a one-man cult" "I can never make him love me" "Never make him love me" It's a bad religion if i fall in love with someone who can never love me back, is basically whats the lyrics are saying And the "one-man cult" was saying abt his one-sided love with a man Some ppl say it could also be a metaphor abt someone's love towards their God, how they devoted themselves to their God. I am really surprised how everyone is saying that he's right when he is obviously in the wrong! Being an ARMY and a fan doesn't mean that I stand with them in the wrong too! I am an ARMY since 2015 and BTS have a special place in my heart but RM doesn't have that anymore! When you insult and hurt a large numbers of people including thousands of muslim ARMYs even if it was not intentional then you should obviously apologize! The title of the song is BAD religion!! Where is the respect in that?? If it was really unintentional then he could have said that he respects all religions and beliefs and he didn't mean to hurt anyone but I apologize because it obvioulsy did hurt a lot of people! That's what he should have said if he truly respects every religion! He continued saying that it's a song and he is not apologizing!! So a song can't be insulting?? Just like it can spread love and care, it can obviously insult and hurt people. Every song consists of hundreds of words that could do anything!! I am really disappointed in him and I lost all the respect I had for him as a person!

ATTENTION ARMYS‼️🔴 You all misunderstood the meaning of the song. Bad religion is about unrequited love. Frank loves this person so much to the point where he worships him but the other person doesn't feel the same way. He can't accept that and is desperate to change his feelings towards him. Hence why it's a bad religion. ("It's a bad religion to be in love with someone who could never love you"). I took this from reddit. It's the meaning of this song. The writer of the song put the word "Allahuakbar" there which is not RM. And fyi the writer's already change and deleted the word to respect the religion And there is a reason why the word is in there, its some kind of conversations in the story he is telling. Which the other person he is talking to was saying the word on the conversations. So its never abt the religion

Okay so lists some pros and cons. Pros •he didn't mean to offend anyone •He shared the song for different reasons •He didn't know it was offensive •As he stated before he didn't share the song to be offensive to Islam religion •This is not about religion Cons •Even if he didn't mean to he did offend a religion •He shared the song and didn't know is was ismalphobic •He didn't have any attentions of offending islam religion Now we see even though he didn't mean to offend islam religion because as he said, "I respect every religion" And I can see why people may be offended by this please understand he really DIDN'T mean to offend anyone. He didn't know the song was islamphobic and he refused to apologize. Him refusing to apologize would make anyone mad and may even call him disrespectful for this behavior. But the only reason he didn't apologize was because he didn't mean to offend anyone so therefore to him he has to reason to apologize. Man, the song is about LGBTQ and Muslims don't allow LGBTQ, but the song's prespective is that the person likes person of same Gender but is a Muslim and prayed to Allah to not punish him.

This song is about "one sided love". Being a poet, namjoon pays a lot of attention to words. He is especially fond of words with heavy words with deeper meaning. If you follow the whole story in the song you will see that he calls an unrequited love "Bad Religion". His bad religion is loving someone who doesn't love him back which is also a metaphor for loving a god that doesn't love/answer him because he's gay and that's against his Religion. So he's basically saying that loving someone who doesn't love him back (his Bad Religion) can't be good if he hurts himself. "Bring be down to my knees" referees to the unrequited love hurting him, making him pray so he asks for help to get through his heartbreak but he doesn't get any. He calls an unrequited love Bad Religion. A synonym. When he's talking about bad religion he doesn't mean an actual religion, he means the unrequited love. It's the same word for him. And this song is a story he has actually reperienced where a taxi driver said that to him. Since the song came out a decade ago he has changed the "Allahu Akbar" lyrics RM didn't post this song to slam a religion. Also, Frank Ocean never degraded Muslims. Please Muslim armys, don't be incited by BTS haters. Frank ocean's song does not disparage Islam. Muslim army should research his songs and not just parts of it.

@@wisheysamie4223 I searched the real meaning and it's very tough to realise from the lyrics tbh. You can definitely give an after explanation like I said this but I meant that. Islam is used just as reference. But that reference or whatever you're saying, the lyrics were disrespectful enough. Nobody would ever interpreted in that way if they hear the song at first. My intention is not to shame RM or being heartless towards him. My condolences for whatever mixed feeling he is going through. And Islam teaches us to ne sympathic. That's why I wish him to be safe and guided to right path as well. But the problem is he should've apologised for his deed. Whether it's intentional or not, he has hurted the sentiments of Muslims. Saying a mere 'sorry' will not make you any less. Rather it shows that you're responsible enough for your deed

They produced some tracks just to dissed their haters bcs those haters insulted them. Hi.. i'm an Army and i think he is still wrong for posting it, he should hv known that this a very sensitive topic Especially with the amount of muslim fans that he has And i just wanna say something, a bit of the song that i can explain 🙏🏻💜 So in the song Frank Ocean tells a story about someone (could be him, could be a fictional figure of him, could be anybody) who is getting on a taxi and he is just want to drive around to release his stress And at some point he made a conversation with the driver and kinda tell him abt his unrequited love story with a guy he fell in love with "Taxi driver" "Be my shrink for the hour" "Keep the meter running" "Just outrun these demons, could you?" These are some of the first few lyrics And after that, the Taxi Driver responded with "Allahuakbar" and "Boy you need a prayer" Which pictures that the driver is a muslim and he told him to pray and maybe to find some enlightenment "It's a bad religion" "Ooh-ooh-hoo, this unrequited love" "To me, it's nothin' but a one-man cult" "I can never make him love me" "Never make him love me" It's a bad religion if i fall in love with someone who can never love me back, is basically whats the lyrics are saying And the "one-man cult" was saying abt his one-sided love with a man Some ppl say it could also be a metaphor abt someone's love towards their God, how they devoted themselves to their God. I was a moslem and i was an army since 2015. Its the time before BTS become as big as now. I was a loyal fan of BTS. I was'nt the fan of Kpop idol but BTS... but now RM has no love from moslem army anymore. As we all know, the biggest army from all over the world are moslems. As a muslim army, I am disappointed. I didnt leave the fandom but I am disappointed in RM. The song is literally called BAD religion. Maybe he didn't know the meaning of the song but after knowing it he should have apologised.

Please try to make sens... "if the religion was good it would accept him as a gay person. So it is bad religion because it is not accepting his homosexuality just like the guy didn't accept his love. And this very religion asks him to deny his homosexuality because it sees it as a phase but nothing more than that. This is why he is calling it a bad religion" You are basically saying that this song says that the bad religion is his one sided love but also Islam cause it goes against his homosexuality. This song is clearly stating the fact that the belief of Islam is wrong considering that homosexuality is considered as a sin. Because of that belief he is calling Islam as a bad religion and shows that he doesn't believe in Islam. => that one sided live is a bad religion like Islam which condamn homosexuality. The thing is however you try to explain it he stills call it a bad religion. That is what we are mad about he can disagree with islam beliefs without calling it a bad religion. This might be very sad for people to hear. He doesn’t have to apologize just because someone thinks he should. He owes his fans good performance not control over his life. You cannot make him believe something he doesn’t want to believe. His stance is sharing the song was not to insult so he’s not apologizing. But even if it was an insult? Unfortunately you can’t change what he says or thinks about. Various religions means something that means a lot to one means nothing to others. Don’t put your faith in celebs and then take it personal when they do something you don’t like. You can enjoy the music even if you don’t agree with the person. Although people also have to decide whats right for them!

Why is no one knowing the meaning of the song is it because they are dimwits

I see it is becoming a pattern when any of the guys share a song, fans of different cultures , races and religions hold them accountable for the "possible disrespect", lyrics, racial slurs or more. They are not the ones that made those songs, are not expressing their pov on anyone, maybe just liked the genre and music. I'm so dissapointed. I supported this group since no more dream era. I've heard about this issue before but I didnt react since I haven't read the lyrics. But now, really, I'm so dissapointed.

The issue is the Allah Akbar added to the lyrics. That wasnt neccessary and its demeaning and insulting to a particular religion(islam). I guess the song writer isnt a muslim,he/she would have known better. "If love makes you go down on your knees and beg,then its a bad religion"then i suppose the taxi driver said"Allahu Akbar"and he replied"dnt curse me"bcos he doesnt believe in God due to the pain i guess. The lyrics are soo deep to comprehend and i dnt think the writter or rm has any bad intention or intentionally hurt we Muslims but he should apologize for hurting us unknowingly. Hi.. i'm an Army and i think he is still wrong for posting it, he should hv known that this a very sensitive topic Especially with the amount of muslim fans that he has And i just wanna say something, a bit of the song that i can explain 🙏🏻💜 So in the song Frank Ocean tells a story about someone (could be him, could be a fictional figure of him, could be anybody) who is getting on a taxi and he is just want to drive around to release his stress And at some point he made a conversation with the driver and kinda tell him abt his unrequited love story with a guy he fell in love with "Taxi driver" "Be my shrink for the hour" "Keep the meter running" "Just outrun these demons, could you?" These are some of the first few lyrics And after that, the Taxi Driver responded with "Allahuakbar" and "Boy you need a prayer" Which pictures that the driver is a muslim and he told him to pray and maybe to find some enlightenment "It's a bad religion" "Ooh-ooh-hoo, this unrequited love" "To me, it's nothin' but a one-man cult" "I can never make him love me" "Never make him love me" It's a bad religion if i fall in love with someone who can never love me back, is basically whats the lyrics are saying And the "one-man cult" was saying abt his one-sided love with a man Some ppl say it could also be a metaphor abt someone's love towards their God, how they devoted themselves to their God.
