Came here to see your reaction. I know you have been on the player side of this for a long time. This is a happy day for people who are fans of college football players, not just fans of college football.

The question is, when will this model be agreed for basketball, specifically, would assume there is some legal dealings going on in that field too.

The safest possible investment, BTW, is "none of the above" -- put the money in 30-year T-bonds, get interest on it every year and at the end you get all the principal back. The only possible way that fails is if the US government declares bankruptcy, and if that happens you'll have much bigger problems to worry about.

You don’t really care about college football if you are ok with half the FBs getting kicked to the curb

Not really, non revenue generating sports will likely be fine, especially since the conferences themselves will be footing a lot of the bill for the revenue shares. Plus the NIL model, which hasn’t killed non revenue sports yet is still intact, so these universities will have other avenues for their programs

You acting like Tulsa getting left behind is ok just so a small percentage of players can get paid is ridiculous

It’s not a small percentage when the entirety of D1 gets folded into this. Besides, thanks to the judicial decisions this was inevitable. Either they paid up now, or paid 3x the amount later

Blame the big schools that signed these huge TV deals and didn't want to share. Once this became a billion dollar for-profit industry, the players rightly deserved it to If you were serious about keeping Tulsa, you should have fought to keep this a true amateur sport

@@88jaspersimmons precisely this. Look at Alabama’s facilities then look at Tulsas and say they haven’t been left behind already. This is just enshrining what was already true
