The crazy thing is that this whole realignment phase isn't expected to slow down in 2024

By 2030 I would not be surprised if the only power conferences are the B1G and SEC, the ACC and Big 12 and maybe the PAC-2 after adding various group of 5 teams become glorified Mid-major conferences and the group of 5 basically becomes the new FCS

I gotta say, I love the self contained loop for San Diego State and the Mtn West.

@@atgdcommish608 Nobody rebuilds the PAC 12. It has already LOST the only reason to rebuild it for. AQ Status or whatever they call that now. PAC2 schools will BOTH be better off Independent with their scheduling alliance and pursuing tough opponents. Within 5 years both PAC2 schools will be IN the Big 12 or ACC IF THEY WAIT. The DUMBEST THING they can do is to TIE THEMSELVES to a bunch of G5s.

I do believe Delaware is also playing in CUSA in 24 and definitely in 25, but they may not start until 25 or 26. But it was my understanding just like Jacksonville St and Sam Houston St coming in together that Kennesaw St and Delaware would be doing the same.

I’m sure stanford has seen more snow in pullman than they will in the carrier dome 😂

Love the ACC including pacific coast teams, makes total sense

Anybody who complained about Michigan 2023 schedule. Not in 2024. Michigan plays Texas, Washington, Oregon, USC, Ohio State, and Penn State. No easy schedule in 2024.

Before this realignment happened, OREGON, Washington, USC was already bound for the BIG10. UCLA was not even in the picture, but Stanford was. FOX wanted Oregon and USC first, but because of rivalry they refused to partner with them. BIG interest to Stanford because of Notre Dame. That’s the reality of football world. It’s all about money in terms of viewership.

As a lifelong B1G fan and PSU alum, that is totally incorrect. You can find the answer with a simple Google search. USC and UCLA contacted the B1G initially and were approved unanimously. Kevin Warren wanted Oregon and Washington after the fact but the B1G schools said no. When the PAC-12 started to break up, at least 3 B1G schools didn't want Oregon at all in the second wave of realignment. Washington was approved. They gave in to Fox wanting Oregon in order to get the schools they want out of the ACC.

Yeah they wanted the two additions to originally be USC and Oregon -cause of their cool uniforms. They instead decided to pair USC with UCLA to lock down the LA market. Once Colorado left and Arizona started talking to the Big 12 that's when negotiations started with Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Cal. The BIG presidents wanted Stanford because of academics but the networks were only going to fund Oregon and Washington. My opinion is that the BIG will be owned by OSU and Oregon.

It’s not about cool uniforms, it’s about viewership which is beneficial for the media market. Stanford doesn’t draw, because geeks only want academics not sports. Of course the BIG10 want them, but nowadays it’s all about money and football is the money makers of all sports to support other sports including basketball. Basketball is just a lunch money for student athletes

If NIKE indorse Purdue their uniforms will change drastically, because they encourage student athletes pouring in their designs. If they like the designs they’ll use it. That’s how it is at OREGON

students are on 2 year contracts so they don’t over use the portal?

I think USF, Tulane, and Memphis are the next ones to move. Either the ACC or Big 12

@@james58nah man, I hate Florida, and their schedule is vastly more difficult than Georgia or any other former SEC East team as they move away from division play. Texas has a tough draw, and Missouri has a tough draw (although that is specifically due to their own negligence in scheduling and not thinking ahead).

The AAC isn’t bad, it will just take some time for them to trim the fat. Expect UTSA, UAB and North Texas to compete for conference championships

I disagree with you because in regular season results the SBC has overtaken the AAC and MWC as the best and strongest Non-Autonomous Conference by far these past three seasons; and past two seasons for sure. When more than half your conference in the AAC is not bowl eligible and have poor results and everything else vs other G5/6 conferences and colleges and bowl games are at .500 or sub.500, then the AAC has serious issues and problems. This crap about giving time is just that, crap. Time waits for no one. The Sun Belt set the record for bowl teams not the AAC or any Autonomous League either for what it is worth. Based on what is coming back in AAC, it will be Memphis conference championship to lose as they are loaded and should win the conference and be one of two G5/6 teams getting in first 13-team playoff.

So this is the future and as an old-schooler I think its pretty sad. I understand why, of course, but its still sad.

FSU is doing exactly what they did last off-season. Reloading the position need. They’ll be just as good, possibly better. They’re projected low because they’re losing great players but those same players were not looked at as highly when they began at FSU.

Mine is Miami, they have Cam Ward, and one of the best o-lines in the conference, and had an outstanding d-line recruiting class.

Don’t really think the ACC is what put FSU in the position they were in. The committee put them in that position. Jordan Travis out for the season is what drove the committee to make that final decision.

SMU will make more off of the ACC Post-Season Revenue Sharing than in the AAC. SMU will ALSO make more off of the ACC on the ACC Network Payout than in the AAC. They will make more than DOUBLE the AAC Payout AND make more on Tickets, Concessions, Merchandise etc. It is basically TRIPLE the $$$ from where they were. But I'm sure you don't care about FACTS.

SEC, B1G bth going to 20 and STAYING. ACC and Big 12 both going to 20 +1 and staying. The +1s don't play Football. Notre Dame and Gonzaga.
