Rizwan Mian came to Canada in 2006.Before coming to Canada, he had an IT job as a software developer. He started his PhD in 2009 and finished it in 2013 in Cloud Computing. He then moved to Toronto since his spouse wanted to pursue MBA so he came to Toronto and started looking for a job. He got a job in the United States and he worked here for 2 years. He also worked in Manhattan for a year and in Chicago as well in Silicon Valley. He worked on a financial literacy app but it didn't work out. After that, he started studying stocks and started making money. Rizwan's simple advice is to minimize the outflow (expenses) and maximize the inflow. His advice to those moving to Canada is to come in late summer because in fall there are great opportunities for jobs. He emphasizes on understanding the system and being careful and keeping a strict control over expenses. In terms of jobs, he advises to connect with people on LinkedIn and look for opportunities.
