    Wow, looks great. It is an advantage that you work for aqua flora, planting that densely is kinda expensive and not always doable for me. So I save up and reuse plants but the way you do it is the best and the most fresh/ new Scape possible. I would be a kid in a candy store when I could collect my plants and hard scape the way you do, or George Farmer or Jurijs for instance. Good thing also is to see that you consider your fish as much as the scape. Great hobby it is, stay safe everyone.

  • @FAAOAquascaping

    @FAAOAquascaping

    3 жыл бұрын

    It's indeed a great advantage but for example my kitchen tank was rescaped by using the old plants and trimmings from my other tank...I do the same with hardscape, it's use, reused and reused... I could have used new soil, however I have used the same. Planting densely is good to avoid algae, if the budget doesn't allow it, we most use floating plants and try to multiply the ones we have to have a bigger plant mass 😉

    Não tenho um estilo próprio, apenas tendências que podem mudar de tempos a tempos... Se montasse layouts referentes ao meu estilo, não usaria mais de 5 espécies de plantas e seria completamente diferente e minimalista. Quando se faz isto profissionalmente, há que mudar, usar plantas diferentes para depois serem usadas em diferentes projectos. O estilo que mantive durante 3 anos foi essencialmente uma necessidade profissional em se mostrar o máximo de plantas possível num Layout sem parecer confuso e usar as plantas em harmonia sem distrair o observador.

    Olha que não... Até porque tendências são criadas a partir desses 'modelos' e muitos aspectos podem ser melhorados e alguns levam algum tempo. Foi exactamente o que aconteceu quando criei o primeiro 'Bonsai' aquático. Numa altura em que o diorama passou a ser moda eu fui dos poucos que andei contra a maré, no entanto agora uma parte mudou por causa disso. Mas para tal há que manter o estilo por algum tempo para que seja uma inspiração para muitos. Por isso, estava na hora de mudar novamente porque muitos precisam de um motivo para ver que há outras alternativas. Se não se mostrar, nunca irão tentar. Mas é algo que demora um certo tempo de adaptação... Primeiro detesta-se, depois já aceitam e por fim passam a admirar. Tendências demoram tempo a enraizar.

    Not really, I'm breeding them between 20-25°. I just have the heater (25° standard, you can't change it) and plug it on when I do larger water changes of 50-80%. During summer is always off... Here in the north of Portugal and close to the sea, temperatures go around 15-25...29 max but just a few days in a year. During winter I keep it on because ambient temperature will decrease to 17-19° at home, but since I use tap water it comes very, very cold. They don't seem to bother... And keep spawning.

    Não tenho qualquer opinião sobre o filtro em causa porque nunca o usei. O único filtro powerjet que usei foi um da Chihiros 900Lh, muito semelhante ao da ADA e era muito bom! Acredito que os da ADA tenham ainda mais qualidade. As bombas pelo que me informei são fabricadas no mesmo sitio, há o inox parece-me ligeiramente diferente, o da ADA é ligeiramente melhor, embora bem mais caro, seja pela marca como por certo pela diferença de material.

    You must check by length x height x depth, use an average and keep 2 liters more for details. This is how it works for every tank. If you want to use just in a corner like my tank, just measure the area you want to plant, how much you want for slope and use math to get it. I have 15-20cm max slope in the back corner, planted area 70(L)x40(D)x8(H average)=around 22.5L Just get 25L or 3x 9L soil (27L) if you don't need all, just storage it in the bag, it doesn't get spoiled.

    Not so much plants in the tank? Or you meant not so much high demanding aquatic plants? I just kept the old setup and since lights are dimmable, I can control the intensity individually of each light. They are running max 50-60%. In a near future if I decide to change something, for example, add a carpet to this scape, it's already there, just need to adjust the front light and it's ready to go.

    There is no ammonia spikes... The soil was washed, after the root tabs was capped by a small layer of new soil (that doesn't leaches ammonia), water was matured (50%) and also a matured filter... The Ramirezis took 2 days to spawn in this tank.

  • @FAAOAquascaping

    This soil is rich in nutrients as well and I place a lot of root tabs before planting. The great advantage on this soil is not leaching ammonia, no extra water changes are needed. This one is Neo Soil, but there are lot of brands out there that does almost the same. This one price vs quality is very good.

    Depends of the tank size... In my 90x60x45cm tank I had 3 couples at same time. I intend to move my breeding to the 90cm tank very soon and probably I will add 5 couples there. Seems to be crazy, but when they are more in a tank they tend to be less aggressive between them. Females can be really aggressive too, same as the males when they intend to breed... So if you have space, add a bit more, that will be much better for them.
