That Double Dragon leitmotif in this new theme really emphasizes Marian’s Badass Brawling in RCG. Can’t wait for it to release. Marian’s moves are my favorite fighting styles rolled into one!

Marian before: Punch her in the gut, she doubles over and must be rescued by the two men. Marian now: STANDING HERE, I REALIZE

I love how cool Misako and Kyoko think Marian is, and they aren’t wrong. I also enjoy that Marian is older than the rest of the playable characters, so she’s the closest thing our lovable group of delinquents has to adult supervision.

@@bert7651 Yeah. Seeing as how this is based off the Neon version and hearing how Billy is now a a "good friend" instead of boy friend. I wouldn't be surprised. It goes hand in hand with the agenda. Empowerment of the previously weeker person are the expense of making previously stronger person a bumbling wrakinfking and fool.

Honestly at this point I just want a Game with Marian as the sole protagonist. Such a cool character and turn around of the damsel in distress trope. Really awesome character design! 🔥🔥🔥

I feel like they need do a full crossover game between all their IPs, Make like River City Riots or something like that where characters from Crime Tribes, Double Dragon and the Kunio games do a massive team up. May be break it into chapters where you play as different teams till finale where you get pick whatever team you like for the final show down. (and freeplay for game plus.)

Between Marian giving a self-satisfied smirk while talking about her "Close Friends" or Misako visibly blushing while talking about Marian's abs I can only be led to conclude all the heroes are down bad for one another.

More Female hero's should be written in a similar matter. *EDIT:* I imagine in my head-canon that after she broke out, she learned some martial arts from the Lee bros. Apparently in the canon of the original games, she'd been kidnapped to extort them for the secret of their martial arts style.

It's because River City and Double Dragon are canonically part of the same world. It's just implied that Double Dragon takes place in America and River City is in Japan. That's why Abobo shows up in the first River CIty Girls.

Scott Pilgrim is basically homage to River City ransom, so it's redundant on top of needing pay for the fees for adding the characters. Wayforward already has access to chaarcters from Double Dragon, Crime Tribes, and River City as they are all one universe for this game. They got plenty of characters to use before outsourcing to other IPs.

I'm a simple man. I see big woman, I upvote.

It's funny she comes from Double Dragon, but she seems to mimic the fighting style of the Crime tribes characters.(All part of the same universe in River City girls as you see characters from Double Dragon and Crime tribes as NPCs.) They need to include a strong character/grappler to the cast(While Provie seems to cover the speedy/skate archtype), so makes sense Marian got tapped for the job. She was too awesome looking in the first RCG game to stay on the bench.

She's very different here, but not the first time fighting, last time was in NeoGeo's Double Dragon. I'm still here hoping for Arc doing as good new Double Dragon like the recent River City games.

A truly woke addition. A girl gets tired of being hurt, abused and kidnapped and trains to get jacked so that she can defend herself and others. And before you get started on the design, I'm going to bring up the fact you have another comment on this video where you said they should have 'kept her Double Dragon Neon design'. I get it, yet I feel it's just fair to warn you the two girls ogling Marian both have boyfriends (it's the dudes below them at the end of the trailer) just so you don't get your hopes up TOO high... unless you care more for playing as cool ladies beating people up more than playing stuff featuring textual queerness as oppossed to subtextual / teased queerness. In Double Dragon Neon, you can turn on damage numbers and see that the gut punch she receives is 999, literally max damage. She gets her own back in the finale, delivering a 999 directly to the final boss' nuts.

No, Billy and Jimmy are still alive (they appear as dojo owners in the first River City Girls while Marian and Skullmegedon ran their own shops). What Marian is saying is she's sick and tired of always getting punched in the stomach and getting kidnapped. The trailer shows that she's been building up muscle when she's in captivity, hence "saving" herself from a long term weakness by making her gut stronger, hence the "legendary abs".
