Loving how the battles look; animations better all around, including the enemies actually having attack sprites too, and then how the camera swivels dramatically. Looking forward to the release!

On another topic: Do not sleep on Tactics Ogre Reborn as it launches on November 11th. Part of its dev team (on the original, the remake and the remaster) has worked on FF Tactics, FF XII, FF XIV and even on the upcoming FF XVI.

I really like how they took the first game thats already really good and erradicated the few flaw's that were left. Octopath Traveler is one of my favorite games and it looks like the secound part could even exceed it.

I started Tressa in the original and homie look about to do the class justice yet again. I just love his Frontier accent.

This… This is game-of-the-year level for me. The 2 path actions per character, day and night system, traversing through bodies of water, the new latent power skills… I need this game RIGHT NOW.

Same. I can't believe I get this and a couple months later tears of the kingdom. This game honestly one of the most beautiful on the switch imo.

As someone who is barely finishing off the first game with almost 200 hours, I can't wait to do it all again in February 🤣

Totally. Sundown’s chapter was so short but it was one of my favorites

After playing Octopath Traver, Triangle Strategy and (currently playing) Live A Live, I gotta say these HD-2D games grew on me.

i just still cant believe a game could be this pretty and aesthetically pleasing ❤️

I love that the scholar gets Mug this time, very exciting.

this is my most anticipated switch game cause of how ambient and atmospheric it is, seems like the mood just oozes out of the screen

I’m going to start with Partitio since he’s a combo my two favorites from OT1: Alfyn and Tressa

looks like the excellent soundtrack from the first game will continue in this one. amazing

Triangle Strategy - You can move the camera 360 degrees since SRPGs almost require it for gameplay reasons but it's also done in the exploration sections when getting a lay of the land of the maps Live A Live - In cutscenes, you see it being more flexible in a more "traditional" RPG. The camera can pull itself out or focus in at times or just do shots you typically don't see in games with sprite characters

Lmao imagine if Cyrus had a "mug" option 😂😂 I thought inquire was the worst ability in the first game so hopefully it'll be more useful in this one!

@@guidomenicacci336 I was thinking more sea battle theme. The first half of it makes use more of staggered triplets which reminds me of more PotC. The tempo is also different than Battle 2 of the original game. Battle 1 here keeps a similar intro and tempo to the 1st game's (you can hear it in the TGS showcase a few times).

With the Industrial Revolution-style setting, I'm wondering if maybe we'll get guns or someone. I was leaning towards Partitio, but Osvald, edgy as he seems, actually looks pretty interesting, but if Partitio is a gun-slinging cowboy, then I'm sold.

This won me by the visuals alone. The sprite-work is gorgeous.

Omg the animations of the sprites have so much more life and character in them, looks amazing!!!

Everything is shaping up so nicely I cannot wait! Anyone know if OT 2 will have a New Game +?

It’s refreshing to see a fantasy story with a wild western setting, as suppose to the usual medieval European landscape we often see in games like this.

This game looks GORGEOUS, I seriously can't wait. I want it now!!!

First game had some of the best videogame music in the last 10years or so. Going to be awesome to hear what Yasunori Nishiki have in store for us this time.

I haven't looked into, but I'm just really hoping that the stories actually connect and culminate into a final act.

I actually started with Osvald as my main, and am loving the story so far! Bravo on this game! A brilliant second edition so far!

The music blew my mind in the first game, and the mobile game, and a third time in this trailer. I can't wait.

I still need to finish the first game that I bought back in 2018.

Playing through the original currently on switch. 30fps is disappointing but no choice cause no gaming pc for me just Ps5/switch. Doubt it’ll have all these visual improvements and then somehow run at 60 on switch when the original could not. Sooo glad the sequel will be on other consoles…

I hope your allies have more influence on the character’s stories than they did in the first. That was my one major gripe about OPT1. Other than small side convo’s and being used in battle, the other travelers had 0 influence in each other’s stories.

I actually kind of liked it that way. Yes it was kind of wierd lore wise that you are fighting and traveling with other people but the stories only ever acknowledge their respective character. But if the characters actually influenced each other i would never finish this game while trying to find all interactions.

There will apparently be special quests called crossed paths in which two characters will participate in a quest together since their paths cross as the name suggests. I am actually very very excited for this feature

This is seriously the best looking game I have ever seen. Also, the voice acting in these games is top notch. I can't wait to pick this up!

The new ways to travel reminds me of Bravely Default. The latent powers just seems like they just moved the last final skill of each job to latent powers instead because I swear these are those same exact skills.

Partitio is going to be my main and his voice acting is soo charming and warm.

I bought the first Octopath Traveler game this week after seeing the trailers for the second game. Hopefully I'll like it :)

You can really see how many elements octopath took from bravely default even unintentionally. Partitio is like if you crossed Tressa with Elvis from Bravely Default 2, but if he was American. Visuals and ost wise the original Octopath was amazing. In fact the visuals were so good square has made several remasters of older titles as well as some new ones that use a similar style established in it. This game seems to be taking most of what made octopath good while fixing its issues for example the mostly seperate stories outside of the final boss where its all tied together weirdly

God damn this game looks delicious. I love that they actually animated all the enemies when they attack now and have dynamic camera angles in a 2D game LOL So epic.

Anyone else thinking of Golden Sun during the map travel?! That looks awesome!

Just looking at the upgrades they've made since Octopath 1, I cannot wait to see how Octopath 3 grows from this, cause this already looks phenomenal, they might just blow our minds with the next installment.

I saw osvald (i read it like Oswald) and octo in the same sentence and was like "omg Oswald the octopus from the hit kids tv show, Oswald the octopus, along with books of the same name?"

It's interesting that these travelers have 2 different overworld abilities instead of just 1 this time around. Nice!

I noticed that battles will have a shifting camera angle much like the Golden Sun games.

This looks great

Partitio's Latent Power is really really good, getting 5BP at once. Mastering his own class lets him have that gauge filled at the start of battle. Paired with his Rest for refilling HP and SP, he's practically self-sufficient. He just lacks multi-target skills, which almost any other class can grant him (Inventor + Hoot & Holler tends to delete random battles with one catapult).

Moving Sealticge's to a limit break makes me a LITTLE sad, but I'm REALLY loving how everyone's path actions are more numerous and are sort of crosses of two of the original travelers.
