I still dont. Probably because im stupid. I just wish there was an actual program with a library of assets and functions that allows you to create/modify certain survivor stuff through an UI. Thats probably impossible. Im not sure im even getting my idea across.

This may be almost 2 years old but this helps a good deal on where to start. Main start will be learning more about C#. Always seems so intimidating but we gotta start somewhere and I would love to start actually creating things in the games I love to play. Thanks for the jumpstart and explaining it in a way that's not intimidating or daunting.

Figured getting into modding this great game would be a good place to start. I also just want to tell you that this video has great quality. It gets to the point but also has some quick humour in it that I appreciate. Thank you for the tutorial.

Took me a while to figure out how IL worked but I eventually got it. Just wanted to thank you once again for helping people get into this. I'm learning Gamedesign in 3rd grade HTL (higher technical education institute) but coding has always been the most difficult part for me. Like I'm not half bad but this exceedes by skillset by miles. I'm more interested in thinking up concepts for abilities, items and enemies and also the more graphic parts (especially3D modeling) is quite fun too. I'm not an expert in any of that yet but just the thought of visualizing my concepts in game was tempting enough. This will either end reall fast or take an eternity. I've also thought about looking for other people to team up with in the modding community but I feel like I'd bring nothing to the table except for my creativity at which point I'd just be watching other people do my work which is not something I'd feel great about doing XD. Anyways great video! Maybe I'll understand the remaining 95% I didn't get for now once I'm done with school.

Yeah, I agree. This was so bare bones and skimmed really quickly over everything that I was left just as overwhelmed when I was lost. I know where to start now, but not sure what everything does and why. He went by so fast I had to pause and rewind several times to get a gist of what's going on. I've only been coding for 2 years in university but this still was kinda confusing. A more thorough, broken down tutorial would benefit individuals like me who are completely new to game dev or modding.

I have been working through this and watched it like 10 times, but I feel like there are so many gaps in what to do next. It's really hard to follow. I jump from tutorial to tutorial trying to fill these gaps but there is still a lot of guessing and unknown. It would be nice to have a full beginning to end video for a character. I'll keep fighting at it for now. I have got my model, texture, and animations in Unity I hit ab make and didn't know what it did. I tried it again with the henry mod tutorial, but now there is no ab make button... I would love a more detailed video of the full process.

    1) Go here: github.com/risk-of-thunder 2) Follow the guide to make a custom skin with vanilla character. 3) At the section where you rip assets into Blender, use this as an opportunity to begin crafting your own design within the boundaries of the existing character. 4) Finish the skin for the new character, replace the original mesh (character skeleton) with your monstrosity (covered in the skin modding video by KingEnderBrine, just a few point and clicks ). 5) Upon building via Unity, you can test out your mod by placing in the BepInEx plugins folder. 6) If you’ve done this successfully, then you can revisit the game code to make your own programmatic attributes. That’s my hot take on the process, and I only just learned the skin stuff last week. You got this!

you can definitely make custom maps, there's a channel for it in the discord if you want to know more, but usually people don't do it because maps are pretty much entirely just art, and so modeling and making a whole entire (and good quality) map can take a longer than other kinds of mods.

For example it looks like you didn't make variables for the animations, model, or textures for your character just the prefab since its the only thing you interact with.
