It might be worth mentioning in the next video that the were three changes in the calendar in the Third Age. 1. After Breaking (AB): from the end of the Breaking of the World until the end of the Trollock wars. 2. Free Years (FY): from the end of the Trollock Wars until the end of the war that followed the collapse of Hawkwing’s empire. 3. New Era (NE) from the end of the Free Years until the Last Battle.

Ever since Wizards and Warriors was introduced, I've been excitedly awaiting a Wheel of Time history and am so grateful you guys have decided to cover this! With that said...it's Artur, not Arthur 😅

Somehow my mind always hears it as "trollop wars". That sounds like one hell of a conflict.

Artur Hawkwing also had a pretty famous sword, "Justice." Book readers that know, know that sword shows up *twice* in the books.

It was kinda a meh. Just sort of showed up, when all of (spoilers) other swords up till then had big symbolism and meaning and Justice just kinda, plopped in his lap; Don't even think it was named justice in story when he had it

this narrator is the voice narrating the stories i tell myself in my head. this dude rocks!

Artur Hawkwing is one of my favorite Heroes not apart of the time that the series takes place in. The name alone is imagination catching...and then you have his many victories. Of course, in the end he was only human and the Forsaken maneuvered him into destroying his empire (and causing a lot of chaos).

As in the video about theTrolloc Wars, there appeared an advisor named Mordred. (A nod to Tolkien's LOTR and his villian Morgoth?) Then at Hawkwing's court comes Moerad? As you said, it was Ishmael. It was he who was probably the Mordred of the Trolloc Wars. Certainly it was Moerad who encouraged the renegade Aes Sedai to create the collar the Seanchen use on their channelers. Fittingly, she herself was collared. Thanks for this excellent synopsis of the Hawkwing era.

I think you missed that during this period. Another Amyrlin got deposed. All of what Hawkwing claimed about Beowin WAS in fact true. Why she did it? That is the mystery.

I always chalked it up to the fact that Beowin was of the red ajah. As such she would typically be suspicious of men in general. Tie in Hawkwing was also a great taveren she probably despised him even more. Also the fact that Hawkwing was begged to help repulse the attack on Tar Valon from false dragon supporters after Hawkwing had previously been forced to leave for entering Tar Valon.

Ive read the books several times but its nice to have these videos which bring all the little snippets of information together and i love the visual representations of the battles and the world maps.

These Wheel of Time videos have been great, keep it up! Glad that you covered Guaire Amalasan. He is a very powerful and mysterious character that often gets overshadowed by Hawkwing despite being far more interesting imo.

​@@vannelii was originally planning to binge them after a complete season; but the changes to the show that I heard tell of were disgusting and I don't think I'll ever watch that thing. To think that they'd do Abell dirty and make him into an abuser just for more drama, when he was one of just 2 who dared to leave the Two Rivers and face Aes Sedai to check up on their missing children. tsk~~

@@pul0y Do not give 1 minute watch of this abortion on Amazon Prime. They have done dirty to EVERYONE. Liandrin was an evil witch that you loved to hate and could not wait to see when she would get her just deserts. Instead, we get a sympathetic woman who is just trying to save her son. The Seanchan are INCREDIBLE evil bastards, but since there are women there, they are not shown holding leashes with the damane. Hurin was written off, Elyas is an evil character that doesn't care, Verin, a fan favorite, is... where? And Rand, Mat and Perrin are MIA

Very well done. Just a little tidbit, I personally am not worried about it but the Fandom for wheel of time is Uber hard core about the pronunciation of certain things. Seanchan is literally pronounced Llike the name Shawn and Chan from Jackie Chan. Also I'm pretty sure Artur Hawkwing is a rebirth of Arthur Pendragon in that the pattern will use him as a massive unifier

@@prestonyardley3255 The name is clearly Arthurian and I believe he had some knights around him similar to the knights of the round table, but the way that he rapidly conquered all the known world at a young age must a literary homage to Alexander. Likewise his succession crisis leading to desolation of his empire and many of the successor kingdoms claiming legitimacy by decent from him fits too.

His close interactions with the Aes Sedai mirror Charlemagne’s complex relationship with the Catholic Church and he founded the first major empire since the Breaking similar to how Charles the Great established the first empire in Western Europe since the fall of Rome. So perhaps that was an influence too.

That's a nice summation of the Free Years. And you actually even talked about a bit of the other regions. What was lacking in the Breaking video was mentions of the Aiel travelling crossing the lands or the Sea Peoples. I guess they will get their own special episodes? A little nitpick though was how it was implied that the only Dragons were the notable appearing in the glossary.. there were many more just that they weren't powerful channelers and generals.

Arthur hawkwing the Giga Chad of Giga Chad's of The Wheel of Time next to the dragon Reborn. It is said that if Arthur met the dragon Reborn they would have the most powerful brofist in the history of the wheel. It is said that Arthur hawkwing has a fist within his beard.

The video is great, but why is Artur spelled correctly in the title, but pronounced and spelled incorrectly as "Arthur" throughout the video? Also, Trolloc is not spelled with a K as it is in the captions.

One question - I know that WoT is set on Earth, I was wondering about the map you showed at the start, which looked to me to be Western Africa - if it is, is that the confirmed/accepted location for where the books take place?

The breaking that happens every cycle is basically tectonic shits so none of the landmasses we have now match up. It has never been specified where the west lands are or what the name of the land mass ever was.

Why aren't you putting a 'the' in front of words like the One Power or the Amyrilin Seat? Jordan didn't do this, they are just nouns for titles and things, not people's names.

Well when they started their LOTR series they brought out many videos in short time, too. It is often so that they bring at first some very quick and later the space between them is greater.
