I forgot how ridiculously spot-on Rick was in this bit. And to think he used it in a one-minute throwaway!

Rick Moranis did Ringo's mannerisms behind the drum set to a tee. He's also not to shabby with the drums.

I'm not sure if Ringo played like that in the 70s, but for sure during the Beatles, he didn't use that drum pattern. Still, it's Rick actually playing drums while he's singing, which is what Ringo did.

Watching the Beatles special last night and seeing Ringo on the drums had me thinking of this skit....lol.

I remember that when I was back in high school in 1979

I watched this episode here on KZread and they removed the songs probably due to copyright infringements, so it looked like that Rick just started goofing around on the drums after the audio was suddenly cut out lol Didn't know the song was actually played, I can't tell which one I like better.

@Voracious Reader And you should read someone's comment CAREFULLY before adding misplaced criticism. I SAID Seal stole it because THIS song came FIRST. (I didn't literally mean the real Ringo if that's what your gripe is!) And it didn't come out a "full" 14 years before. The "Ringo" song (by Rick Moranis) came out 13 years and 11 months before.

It's from SCTV (Second City Television) for those who don't know that i'll always be true. I like to think that Rick is really playing the drums in this clip, even if he's not. It's the solo from 'The End', off the Beatles 'Abbey Road' album.

@@treadway237 He is playing the drums, although a Beatles-phile would point out Ringo didn't play drums that way (other than The End part), which is fine. This is satire, not an exact copy.

@@davidcronkite123 Rick Moranis is indeed a multi-instrumentalist. A lot of the musical bits on SCTV were his doing. Eugene Levy also has a fair amount of musical talent as well.
