I adore how composed, direct she is and als osuch a free spirit...Artists "like" (I say like in an ironic way because no one is like these) Madonna, Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, Bjork, feel like they are one in a billion FORCES of nature that become iconi and legendary...Rina I feel very much will become that standard jut seeing her in interviews and performances...brilliant!

wow that was a very interesting point on how the kpop boom has given more space for people of asian backgrounds to be seen and normalised in the music industry even if they are not kpop

I always enjoy watching her interviews because she is so informed not just about her industry but society's role on the industry. Like that answer about Kpop is massive because there is a huge correlation. It definitely started with Jpop in niche internet spaces, then moved to Kpop (thanks to the bridge that is Kwon BoA) and now Kpop being part of the global zeitgeist.

I read it’s because she doesn’t want to give up her Japanese citizenship and Japan does not allow dual citizenship
