I just discovered Rina through John Wick 4 and have been getting into her music since. She's super talented. I'd also love to see her reprise the Akira role in a spin-off or sequel movie or series. She really did a great job in the movie.

"slid into the DMs" in this case just meant messaged her privately. Simu was likely just trying to build his connection of celebrities which is something people in the industry do. Like imagine if Simu needed someone like her in a show he's working on or if she needed someone like Simu on something she was working on. Be good to have that connection.
