Rights - How to Play

Ойындар

Today, I show y'all how to play the new 3-5 player game from Oink Games (@oinkgms), Rights! it was released at the Tokyo Games Market on May 5, 2015.
In Rights, players play as fashion designers trying to acquire the rights to traditional designs as well as make a profit in monopolizing them. In doing so, the other designers who use your design must pay you a usage fee at the end of the game.
However, if you don't have the monopoly or no one is using your design, you will not earn a profit. Your goal is to not only get the rights to a design, you must make sure that other designers use them.
EDIT:
---
Mistake at 4:38 -
The game ends when the deck is emptied or, depending on player count, having a certain number of cards in one's tableau.
3 players, 10.
4 players, 8.
5 players, 7.
Apologies.
---
ANOTHER mistake at 5:02 -
Your hand of cards at the end get added to the cards in your tableau. After doing so, then start counting for majority.
This clarification is not in the English rules of the game. It is on the Japanese rules.
Payment is still the same.
Apologies.

Super excited for this. I love No Thanks! as a filler and this feels similar...but with enough differences to make it compelling on its own. Thanks so much for the video!!!

Thanks for the playthrough. I am a little confused why a player would want to pass a card instead of keeping it. Perhaps the player on the right might keep the 10 and "catch up" to the player at the top? I guess the strategy will make more sense once I actually play the game. Your video really helps explain the game. Thanks!

I wanted to get this for a friend who is a fashion designer. What makes this about fashion design other than it looks like the cards have stripes, polka dots, etc on them? It seems like this could really be about the "rights" to anything. idk I was just expecting it to be more "fashion" related. Even the design representations are really simple, I thought they were going to be like pencil skirts and other types of garments.

Kasey Prom You're right - this game has little to do with fashion. They actually recently re-themed this game as Startups - a game about getting stock in startup companies.

If there is a tie for the same amount of the same number, no one gets the money. :)

I mention it at around 4:38. I made a mistake in the video and it has noted (in the description) and annotated. The game ends when the deck is empty or, depending on the player count, the amount of cards in one's tableau. 3players, 10cards; 4players, 8; 5players, 7. :)
