My game of games is definitely going to Sagrada. It's visually pleasing to the eyes, a great balance of strategy without ever being over whelming. It's like Splendor in some ways but it's better in other ways. Truly an amazing game.

As a family we own 3 of these games, castles of burgundy, green team wins and pandemic 😊 Paint the roses and Patchwork are on my games to play list at the local board game cafe

I’ve been thinking about Paint the Roses, and you may have pushed it to the top of my want list. Love Castles of Burgundy and TTR. I may need to give Patchwork a second glance. Love the content. You are both very genuine.

I think this is the best version of this list I’ve seen. One of best tempted to put on is NMBR 9 - so easy, so “gotta play one more time”, and there’s no max player count so if everyone owns it and there’s another lockdown you just Zoom with each other and only one deck flips for all households.

Great video guys! Great list! Some others... War of the Ring for the Epic, Crokinole for dexterity, Carcassone for tile flipping, Viticulture or Agricola, The Crew, Azul, Sagrada. When I saw Castles of Burgandy on video I thought it would be too much luck for my taste, but when I played it, I really liked the strategy of choices to mitigate. I played Green Team Wins with 4 newer board gamers and we had a hillarious time with some of the answers! How about Muster Mustard. How about a new game store with a rotating lazy susan set in the middle so you can have a table for customers on one side, a table for filming your next game video on the other. But playing spinning crokinole on a spinning set, maybe too much.

Trio and Trekking through history would be on my list and probably forest shuffle because it’s easy to learn

I was literally playing the digital version of Patchwork on Steam as I listened to this in the background, which I found very funny when it came up. Fantastic game and a must have for sure.

I subbed and liked while giggling, a genuinely difficult thing for a youtube intro to get me to do.

Also I was blown away by my own taste in board games; I already own Decorum and love it, found it through Fog of Love by the same designers which i honestly didn't really like. Patchwork is one of my favorite games to sit down for 30 minutes alone and try to fill out two boards at once. Ticket to Ride is an amazing game, and after i finish learning A Feast for Odin, castles of Burgundy was next on my list. Safe to say i WILL be checking out all 5ish other games you recommended, as we seem to have incredulously similar taste in good board games :D

My amazon cart is perpetually filled with your recos 😭 How about a list where you share how to level up from lightweight to more weighty games in the different genres/mechanic of games? 🙏🏼

Project L would be my Polyomino game of choice and also my number one for a list like this I think. It looks great, plays in under half an hour and still feels like you played a meaty game. I haven't played Green Team Wins, but my party game would probably be Dixit. Great game that really helps you get to know people and their frame of reference a little which is fun. I didn't like Castles of Burgundy, so my euro game for this list would be Orlèans. I find it the easiest euro to teach new players and it just plays really smoothly. Small card game would probably be either Silver & Gold, The Crew or Point Salad. I would also throw Celestia on the list somewhere as it is a really fun, simple but thematic push your luck game that works well with 4+ players.

Mary and Pippin ARE cute! I'm already subscribed, and I liked, so give them dogs some treats! I have MOST of the games mentioned, but not all. Time to budget in more games...darn...😂😂

Just played Patchwork with my wife tonight. Ticket to Ride is one of our favorite series. We own almost all of them. We are selling Pandemic. Have not played any of the others.

i have been staring at the castles of burgundy gamefound and going back and forth, but this entire day, every single boardgame youtube video i have watched has mentioned it. Im thinking i no longer have a choice lol.

As much as I would love to play all these games, with my board game friends, the shrink wrap would never come off these games and it would make me sad. Can you do a list of “Top 10 games you need to own with dumb friends” games where you explain the game in under 5 minutes maximum.

It's not my favorite but the game that hits No. 1 most wanted to play by visiting friends/family at my place is Cascadia. Everyone wants to play it! Especially non-gamers.

The dishes for the cubes I imagine is what you’re after and those came in the on the brink expansion for pandemic :)

Funny, I went through my collection yesterday and chose It's a Wonderful World and Patchwork to sell... they are both great games (though IAWW is a little unbalanced), they just don't make it to the table often enough.

If foundations of rome wasn't so expensive, i would say it should be on anyone's list, as a super to play tile laying game. That has crazy table presence

My favorite game at #1!

I personally think Horrified is a fantastic substitute for Pandemic. Horrified is on of my favorite games in my collection

Trying to decide if I prefer herd mentality or green team wins

Please don't take these comments as me being negative, but none of these games would be essential for me, and I wouldn't even want to try them. I always watch these types of videos as it interests me with regards to watch what they view as essential and the stark contrast in peoples tastes in games. Just for your interest my list would be. 1. Etherfields 2. Space hulk 3.Oathsworn 4. tainted grail 5. The great war/Memoir 44 6. Terrorscape 7. Cthulhu death may die 8. A zombicide 9. Decent legends of the dark or Chronicles of Drunagor 10. Arkham Horror 3rd edition.

When and where? JO is a fun word guessing game, there's no denying that, but don't sell GTW short because the idea is, "Whoever is on the Green Team gets points." There's power in the player's hands with GTW - you don't *have* to pick the most popular answer. Sometimes you need to deliberately pick the unpopular answer to throw someone on a winning streak off the Green Team. The only requirement to be on the Green Team is for your answer to be in the majority. Though you can't deliberately communicate what you're writing, you can predict what others will write and sabotage it. This alone puts GTW in a higher spot for me and it's brought so many, "NO WAY!" moments to the table.

Hi guys. It's 2024, there are tons of cooperative games that are funnier/more engaging than good-old Pandemic. Same with The Castles of Burgundy: Lots of newer games have implemented dice-worker placement/drafting in such creative ways since 2011. It's time to give newer games a chance. 😉
