I like the diversity of New Zealand’s nature, when within a few tens of kilometers mountain ranges and heathlands give way to forests and even palm trees. one big island seems to have everything, except maybe deserts.

NZ resident here, we also don't really have rainforests, but as for deserts, we kinda have two halves. One area that's barren and mostly devoid of much life, Rangipo, and we have rolling sand dunes up north of auckland

Fantastic back dirt roads / tracks mate 👍, I rode around the South Island back in 2017 I think 🤔, I left from Christchurch and basically my first stop was Hammer springs “ and actually went in the pools they were fantastic “ BUT , VERY busy - obviously a tourist attraction. My ride was mostly all asphalt. Some dirt , but are hoping to get back on a dirt ride next time . I testing the new 450 Himalayan on Monday . Safe travels mate 👍 a year earlier did a another trip to NZ in a Motorhome with family we done ✅ the jet boat thing ! was fantastic. The Rock Doctor is “ itchy Boots “ - she is a geologist, done a lot of her training in Australia and LOVES ROCKS ! Like Forest gump “ sometimes their are not enough rocks “😂😂😂 Yes extremely difficult to free camp ⛺️ in NZ , if you don’t have your own craper. I took my camp gear , did free camp , pub , cheap caravan park , backpackers - camping . Was difficult.

I think that new 450 Himalayan would be perfect for New Zealand (although I have not ridden one as yet). the scram is getting though all the main tracks with easy so having the new 450 would allow scope to be able to ride some of the more technical tracks and it would be better at HWY speed with the 6th gear. Yes Hanmer Spring was very busy with tourist, it would be cool to find something similar that is more remote so you get just traveler's passing through. I hope you enjoy the reset of the series as I ride more tracks in the area on the way back through.

Hi Agustin Seeing you are young you are starting at the right time. I have been make documentary films for nearly 20 years, so the first thing I would say is just start filming stuff. Do you have a camera to film with, if so don't worry about having the best film gear use what you have. If you don't have a motorbike, then catch a bus into the mountains or to the coast or anywhere and film the journey or even a bicycle ride or just by foot. I am planing on a trip to India in the near future so if you know of any interesting places that are not big tourist spots let me know, I'll probably be looking to head into the Himalaya's. Message me on instagram if you have instagram and send me a link to what you have filmed.

Gday Joe, a lot of the small villages have tent camping in their parks/domains, not free but something like $10 a night for a hot shower and kitchen and they're in nice settings, There was one in Waikari at the start of the Weka pass. A lot of the rock formations have names, the big one on your left was Frog rock because it kind of looks like a frog. Some great photos at the end.

It is an amazing place to explore. I will do a review at the end of the series, But the quick take is the main difference is the Scram is better on road around twisty corners. Watch the next episode as there are a lot more river crossing and deeper. The scram had taken the river crossing and rocky trails with easy, I have had no issues. I haven't taken it up steep rocky climbs or deep mud but so far all the rest it's surprised me.
