    This is the fastest elevator in the world for now, and it goes up to 18 m/s by going up, and goes up to 10 m/s by going down which is insane, but I had been here during christmas recently, and there are three elevator cars there.

    How does it feel when you're descending in such a fast elevator? At my university they have pretty fast elevators and I always feel like I'm freefalling when I use them, so I can't imagine this

  • @markli4618

    @markli4618

    3 ай бұрын

    You can only feel the acceleration by descending, and it is just like 10 m/s when going down, which I am a little free falling, and it is smooth by the way, but you can only feel like the speed is accelerating when going down, and then the speed will feel constant when it reaches at 10 m/s.

    It has to do with how the inner ear adjusts to change of pressure during decent. Too fast will cause discomfort. Just like with an airplane. It hurts when going down, but not so much going up.

  • @realmechanicalengineer5792

    @realmechanicalengineer5792

    It’s actu due to the counter weights in the elevator. It has to pick them up and it is harder to pick them up than drop them since they move the opposite way the elevator does.
