RIDING OUT A MAJOR HURRICANE IN AN RV - An Epic Story of Surviving Hurricane Ian (RV Life)

Some people said I was crazy…
Some just prayed as they watched me from the sidelines…
And others rode the wave with me.
Hurricane Ian rocked Florida when it made landfall…
And many fled the area seeking safety and shelter as the massive storm engulfed the state…
While others chose to hunker down and stare the storm directly in its eyes as it pumped wind and rain throughout the region.
I was one of the many people who decided to hunker down and ride out the storm…
Except we did it with a twist this time.
This time rode out one of the top 5 hurricanes in an RV…
The ride was rocky and bumpy to say the least…
And we captured it all on camera.
Join us as we give you a sneak peek of what it’s like to spend 2 days locked inside of an RV with 3 people, 3 cats, and 2 dogs.

What a ride, glad y'all are safe. I rode out Hurricane Ida 🌀 in our RV by myself! My family got separated because the flood water came in too fast. My Son Dax and Big John made it to our boat docked nearby and rode it out there. Only power was my cell... We were rocking with every wind gust. Our window a/c blew out 3 times then the front door blew out then the flood waters were 9 feet outside 3 feet inside...then it got worse... By daylight I was ready to jump out the window into flood water to go find my Son. Trying to open the window a huge 500 alligator spotted me came swimming over! I jumped to the over side of the bed and here comes a 409 pound alligator! While I am freaking out here comes my Son in a rescue boat for me❤ I jumped from the top of the bed through the window and landed on the bow of the rescue boat, brought me to our boat that made it,,,all water for 28 days no roads, no piers left... **animals go Hurricane crazy when the Barametic Pressure drops below 30.00 for Hurricanes drops way below. ❤❤❤ please be on your guard the adult animals leave the Swamps. I hope y'all are okay from Hurricane Nicole. Update if you can. * one thing I did was carry a marble egg in my pocket for when our RV flipped over so I could break a window out and escape the flood water. Y'all were lucky. God Bless

Wow 😮 I’m glad everyone made it out safely after that. I can only imagine how terrifying that was. Sorry you had to go through that. We did ride out Hurricane Nicole as well. Everyone is safe and there was no damage to our property.

Oh wow! That RV was doing a lot of rocking and flexing. I did get worried when the sun came up and I could see how the windows were flexing in and out. I thought they were gonna pop… it was just like you said, it looked like they were breathing.

I got hit by the northeastern eyewall of a category 3 in a camper and the close to it in a category 2. Over 100 mph gusts for a good while in the park I was at. Wheels lifted a few inches several times in the worst one. Pretty small camper too. I'd probably leave if I was gonna be in the worst section of a category 3 again but if I'm like 100 miles away or even less from the eye I'm cool as a cucumber. Been watching these things come towards me my whole life I've got like an extra sense for where they'll go and how bad they'll be. I don't play games with tornadoes though if there's an outbreak I'll drive 30 miles to a big concrete building and sit for hours and watch.

There is motorhome called the Terra Wind which can float on water, I know because I saw some people who own one, and they drove it into a lake and didn't leak or have any problems. That motorhome is the kind that I want because at least if a person get caught in some water they would not have to worry.

I live in a mogelar home, and my house was rocken. Rolling felt like I was on a boat in the high sea's. I never want to go through that again. I hope you made out well. I lost trees, and they up rooted in my pond and lost skirting. I had to go out and feed my bottel calf that was in my horse trailer, and that was rocking. I'm glad you made it through I live on the west coast of Florida it came right over me vary scary

Sounds like you had a wild ride as well. I’m glad everyone, including your livestock, made it out safely. Thankfully we didn’t have any damage. We did notice the RV wasn’t level. The wind was pound so hard that it made us lean to one side. Aside from that, we were all good.

well you know the RV is leakproof now!.. Rode out a hurricane in Ocala FL back in late 90s in a semi... placed our truck in a way that the way wouldn't make it rock... didn't make much of a difference... Not an experience i want to repeat

The rocking is one thing we could have done without as well. Even though we appreciated the experience, we vowed that once was enough… then Hurricane Nicole came a knocking and we did it all over again 😂 We recorded and posted that experience on this channel too.

There are a lot of different reasons why people choose to stay. The expense of moving, lack of a tow vehicle, time of from work, etc… We knew the storm wouldn’t be severe by the time it reached us so we decided to ride it out and document the experience for others to see and learn from.
