The Pororoca is a tidal bore, traveling up to 500 miles upstream as the direction of the Amazon’s current is reversed by high ocean tide in the Atlantic.

    These river waves do look a bit more boring to surf, but I bet there are so many animals there trying to eat you alive that it makes it just as exciting.
