Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to diagnose that annoying noise on your riding lawn mower and replace pulleys and spindles. This one did not turn out the way I planned. Currently am really annoyed at anything Cub Cadet lol but we will get it straightened out. Related videos and products are listed below.

What else could tbe noise be if not the tensioner pulleys? My noise sounds like it comes from under the engine and the pulleys are new. Push the clutch in and the engine sounds perfect.

I would remove the deck and just hand turn everything on the deck and under the mower and find out what is squeaking.

Why did you not grease the the bearings while you had them off . I put new spindles and pulleys and belts on my 2016 cub cadet and it ripped the belt after only 2 years on it and found out cheap bought pulleys warp . I had a spindle come apart and that is why I replaced them to start with .Spindle looks fine but I can see a wobble in the pulley and took it off and found out it is warped .So Lucky I kept the old pulleys . But I am greasing everything and still not sure about spindle . I am not done yet checking it all out because I am waiting for new belt and slip graphite to come from e bay . Plus hubby had emergency surgery after a heart attack

I never mess with greasing those bearings, they are usually sealed and it just makes a mess. What is graphite slip grease? That is a new one on me. Sorry to hear your man is down hopefully he heals up soon.

As long as you remove the inner seals you can grease them once or twice a year . Just a couple pumps at a time keeps from making a mess and prolongs the life of the bearings . The cheep ones may not last long , some are soft .

I'm sorry that Cub Cadet doesn't still make mower decks like yours. Gone are the metal covers and the belt guards. The metal covers are now plastic.

First problem , it’s an MTD . Second 1 out of 3 bolts always breaks . It’s easier and cheaper to change the bearings

Some John Deere are The 3 bolt craftsman spindles have 2 different small upper , large lower , You'll have to check the number on the bearings . Not all numbers match what you have in hand on some used by MTD They use a Chinese numbering system .@@MowerMike

@@Lawnmowerman02346 I replaced my bearings and did what fixit4U suggested remove inside cover on bearins . I have a zerk fitting and plenty of grease in them but when II took cover off bearing no green grease in them . NONE this is the 3rd set of spindles on 182 hours on mowers . Wish I knew about that before , I could have saved money . Well first set was under warranty after only a couple of hours the spindle failed . I also noticed all the spacers in the spindles were the same size ,same thickness . I just want to get the blades off th spindle rod

I figured out my problem this time. Small piece of wood stuck in a pulley making the belt slap around. Off balance I guess.

easier to replace the bearing and cheaper . I found out why mine was having problems ith the spindles fro Ifixit4U onyoutube sealed bearigs get no grease in them even though I have a zerk fitting so doing what he said take off inside covers of bearings . I rebuilt my spindles with new bearings inside cover removed , but that does not end my story I cannot get the blades off the old spindles . I have tried everything . my mower has 182 hours on it and is a 2016 1042 v twin hydrostatic kw . 3rd set of spindles , So rebuilt them all with new bearings . Oh well at least now i know why it was happening . Wish I could get the blades off the old rod . Ihate to put them back on with the other rod but may have too . I alsocleaned the underside of the deck and put on the second coat of graphite slip plate so grass does not stick

If you have the spindles out take them to a local auto shop . They should be able to get them out if they’re any good at what they do .

I think that video on removing the bearing cover is just plain wrong. If it is sealed you shouldn’t worry about greasing it, will just end up using a bunch of grease and probably forcing dirt into the bearing. I know it has like 3 billion views but is still just wrong in my view.

@@MowerMike The reason you grease is to force water and dirt out . ( " Permanently lubricated " ) sealed bearings are a figment of some engineers imagination , and need to have fresh clean grease on a semi regular basis .
