good job on the vid.i pulled the trigger and sold my ktm500exc and bought ktm300xcw erzberg after watching this.i pick it up next week.56 and feeling like a kid again waiting on this bike.thanks for talking and not adding music.

This is an awesome video. Definitely covered all points that anyone would want to know about 2-stroke vs 4-stroke. I’m a newer rider at age 52 and I bought a lot of bikes to try out including 2021 KTM 300xc, 250xc 250 xc-f Troy Lee, 450 sx-f Factory Edition and a handful of Kawasakis. Bikes that I kept are the 2022 KTM 300 xc-w tpi Erzbergrodeo and 350 xc-f Kailua Russell. Definitely things I like about both bikes but the 300 xc-w is the most fun and easy to ride. As you said…power is always there but not scary. The 300xc tpi was more of a hit. Not as manageable. Thanks for the video.

Welcome to the 2 stroke club, we'll be green sticker in 2025. Suspension is much better on the bike if you do the full race tech setup. But $$$. Also the stock silencer is not a spark arrestor, look at putting at least an FMF Turbine Core 2 or 2.1 on it so you don't start a fire.

Eugene, nice commentary on the KTM. What is the name of this place that you are riding at? In your opinion, is this 300 XC-W TPI a much better 2-stroke than the non-TPI 2-strokes; and is it a much better handling bike than the 4-stroke XC bikes? My last 2-stoke was a 1981 Yamaha YZ125, and my last 4-stroke was a 2006 KTM 450XC. That KTM made me feel like I was a much better dirt bike rider than I was; it was awesome. But I'm thinking I might like to return to the 2-stroke motor; I miss the sound and the smell of a 2-stroke (nothing like it).

I was riding at Metcalf Motorcycle Park near San Jose,CA. I can't compare TPI to carb 2 stroke bike, but what i'm hearing is that the TPI bike is a lot easier to ride. Since i've bought this 2stroke, my 4stroke is not getting much riding from me, as i enjoy an XC-W a lot more.

Where are you in Cali? Fun.

Manual says to change at 80. I changed mine at 120. And based on the compression/condition i could have waited for much longer.
