i guess we are lucky here is Australia as we have EXC which is lic type bike , i find them a big improvement from my 2011 ktm250exc , my son has bought the 2020 ktm 300 exc . he has had a few dramas with idle speed , but other wise its been great . im 62 years old and enjoy 2 bangers . cheers for the info steve/Australia

My very first bike was a 2018 ktm 350 xcf and that biked sure kicked the shit out of me through the learning curve I purchased a 2021 te300i rockstar 9 months ago and absolutely love the bike, the ktm is collecting dust now Excellent video, thank you for sharing

I have this bike there is a company called dirt legal. If you pay them they will re title and plate your bike in South Dakota. South Dakota is Unique because you don’t need an in state address to do this. This way you can ride your dirt bike anywhere

That's an interesting service.

The one single huge reason to get a Rekluse is if you’ve got a bike with a cable clutch and do a lot of technical single track. Both my WR 450’s have Rekluse clutch’s, no more arm pump. Picking up a GasGas EC300 this spring and with the buttery soft hydraulic clutch I agree, a Rekluse is probably not needed. The GasGas will be a nice contrast to the 450’s, especially for competitive events. Nice review. Thanks!

Modern 2 strokes are incredible. We certainly are not taking anything away from four strokes as there are some unbelievable option available there too. But the EC300, TE300 and the 300 XC-W as well as the offerings from Beta and Sherco are just amazing. Enjoy your new bike!

We completely understand the sentiment. But then again, we have yet to be in a situation where we were really jammed up because we didn't have have a kickstart lever. More people would probably be more upset that the price of the bike went up $200 - $300. Devils advocate...

@@UPSHIFT_ONLINE okay but that’s your experience some people like to ride way out off grid away from power and if you have an electrical issue with the battery or starting system you would be required to push start the bike which would definitely be worth the $300 dollars hell I’d still buy it if they upped the price $500 I grew up working on tractors and from my experience more electronics doesn’t benefit the machine usually it does the opposite

This bike does produce a lot of power, but it is very usable power. Meaning it's delivered smoothly and can be controlled. But as a beginner it could potentially get away from you too. Another bike to consider would be the Beta 200RR. This would be a more forgiving bike but still has plenty to grow into. And it holds it's value very well.

Maaaan I kinda wanted to head that bad ass bike :( I might check your other vids and see what’s up

Highly recommend calling a reputable suspension shop like Carls Cycle Sales in Boise or Konflict Motorsports. They can tell you the latest prices and give you the best information.

Its funny how ppl say "How is it going to know how much oil to mix in" When the auto mixing has been around FOREVER, i had a 1996 Kawasaki KE 100 that had it and a 2007 Yamaha Blaster that had it.

And all the snowmobiles that have it. Injection wasn't in favor for a long time due to additional weight and you can change how a bike runs with different ratios when you mix yourself. But in todays world all that is unnecessary.

I actually have a full highway plate on my ec300 in Idaho. Not restricted. Full highway.

@@erendyalatorre7785 That's right! Here in Colorado a regular dirt bike is street legal for county roads as long as you have your current sticker on the bike. Same goes for ATVs and side by sides. Depends on the county too, but most of them are like this.

@Honda Havoc well my 300 Ktm the frame broke off by the kick stand and then had a Ktm 250 xc and the hole fucking front end snapped off. It about killed me.

@@MansoyHumilde777 hahahaha I was a bodybuilder at one time and was about 270 gIve or take but I’m about 240 now. I have been riding more and more and would like to loss more muscle to be able to ride better. It’s just not easy for me to do so.

I guess you answered my question on if we can make one of these street legal in California. Another reason to move out of the state. I’m tired of our government

Have you ridden the 300xc? If you have, how’d you like it compared to the xcw? Reason I ask is because I purchased a 2021 300xcw but I feel it’s too soft suspension wise.

We have not ridden a 21 XC. Pretty likely the suspension much different between the two. And rarely have we ever had a bike where the suspension was spot on out of the box. We almost always send suspension out to get set up for us.

Probably not... but we do not know for certain. Highly recommend reaching out to State Parks and Rec (or the equivalent) to make sure.

Why do I hate stabilizers I could never get used to it… how do people keep slow balance going up hill and slow descents

Did you have your stabilizer set up to stiff maybe. Find a good neutral position on the bike. You may need to play with your setup some more... bars and bar position, foot pegs and so on.

The 250/300 xc or xc-w top out at the same speed depending on what sprocket you're running. 1st gear is lower on the w model and 2nd gear seems to have a wide gap but all in all both bikes have the same 4th,5th & 6th gear ratios so they top oút at the same speed pretty much unless the xc has a 53 rear sprocket & 14t front sprocket & the 300 xc-w has a 48t rear sprocket & a 15t front sprocket then the 300xc-w would have a little more top speed. If both bikes have a 52t rear sprocket & a 13t front then they both will go the same speed once they have both ktm-300's wide open in 6th gear. Horsepower wise they both have the same amount of horsepower & torque.

@@2511jeremy 1st gear on the xc-w model is for very tight woods & tight single track. I have a older 2011 KTM 300 XC and I rode a friends 2014 KTM 300 XC-W and the XC-W was pretty fast in 4th,5th,6th gear but both bikes in 6th gear had some head shake but nonetheless I love my 2011 KTM 300 xc with either the Keihin 36mm. carb or the Smart Carb 2 which I have on it now. The gearing on the XC 2t models is considered a semi-close ratio transmission & the XC-W is of course the wide ratio transmission. One thing I really like on my 2011 is it was the last year KTM-250/300XC's still used the PDS rear suspension which rocks when riding single track or woods riding. When the 300 wide ratios come out with throttle body injection & still have the PDS rear shock that's when I'll buy a new KTM-300 XC-W model.

@@nateklug5933 Royal enfield makes diesel bikes. the USMC had diesel motorcross bikes. You could use jp5 or even used motor oil. diesel torque is amazing. Let alone, you’ll be able to make your own biodiesel if need be. Fuel economy is something like 100 miles to the gallon too. Wasn’t sure if any newer diesel bikes were available.

@@ABC-oo4vm yeah I read up on all those really wanted the Ktm diesel it was a military bike but only 220 were made that number may be a little off, but from what I’ve heard they vibrate so bad that it’s unbearable i personally don’t know how true that is but I know I’m not gonna spend the kind of money they want for the few diesel production motorcycles and as I said previously I don’t see them being necessary except in an end of the world scenario where gas is to gelled up. As cool as a diesel motorcycle seems they’re to expensive and to uncomfortable for my liking they make plenty of gas motorcycles that get amazing mileage too that will be way cheaper to buy personally I feel that’s the best way to go. And as for the 100 mpg that’s only for the military diesel bikes the production ones I seen were only getting in the 80’s for mileage still great but not quite as thrilling as 100

Yes you can. Just make sure the two stroke injector oil tank is full.

It’s a weird world we live in when California has more stringent laws than we have here in Europe lmao. To be fair though, there’s loads of tricks and cheats often being used here in order to get plated 2 strokes etc. especially in Italy. Where there is a will, there is a way hahaha.
