I unfortunately need to share and update with you all about Erin. Everything is fine however, you may notice this video ends abruptly. Erin had a mini-stroke this week. She spent some time in the ER and is recovering well. It was not a full blown stroke, “just” a mini-stroke TIA that resolved within an hour and a half of the onset of symptoms. She has regained her speech and vision however her strength, motor skills and cognitive processing is not completely back to baseline. We of course did not complete anymore filming and completing the edit for this video was not as simple as usual. We’d like to let you know that moving forward we are going to take it slower, no pressure to push the build- we will be going at her pace and may be focusing on simpler tasks around our property or even just documenting day-to-day things as needed. It has been a rough month for our family and we greatly appreciate you continuing to be here as we move forward.

Oh no please please take it easy. I have been watching since the camper and iphone recording days and on video shes always on the go, josh you would work normal job then come home and do another shift on building up a frame. It all takes a toll on you. I hope best for your family. Please all get rest and lots of relaxation

I was so shocked to hear that Erin has suffered a TIA, it is to be hoped that she recovers totally and that the cause diagnosed. You are right to focus on the little things that really matter to enable Erin to recover her strength. The way that she tackles her part of the build whilst managing the animals is inspiring and I am full of admiration. Best wishes to your family from the UK.

Pretty please Josh, EYE PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES. IT sucks to loose an eye or even both so once again ALWAYS USE EYE PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES! I know because I lost my one eye 73 years again and my whole life has had huge limitations! On a positive note, I LOVE you guys and look forwards to every episode. I live with my family in Sweden.

Almost lost an eye awhile back cutting grass. something shot up from where grass discharges and hit me in the eye. it was like getting sucker punched. eye turned out good but not without me thinking I lost it.

I am going to second what TobbeVijlto stated above. You now have two family members heaving health problems, and I will certainly be praying for them. NOW IT IS HARASSMENT TIME; You MUST use eye protection. I know, I know. You are "being careful." NO, your are NOT. Cutting steel without eye protection is DUMB. I am sorry to say that, but it is. It only takes one little sliver of metal to cause complete loss of vision in your eye. It is many times more dangerous than a sliver of wood and that is bad enough. I work with wood, on a lathe. I use a face shield and eye protection, and even with that I got a sliver in my eye one time as I was removing the eye protection. It fell from the top of my head. It was painful and scary until I got to an eye Dr. shortly after. I was lucky. PLEASE use eye protection EVERY time you are cutting wood and certainly cutting metal. You don't need any "avoidable" health issues.

Thank you for saying that first! Just got debris in my eye cutting concrete siding with a track saw- and I was wearing readers. It’s taken weeks to feel better. Hot steel would be even worse.

What you are teaching Little Miss Ellie is so amazing, I can only imagine her love and NATURAL responsibility for animals when as she ages and in her adult hearts. All your children are so blessed to have a mom and dad raising them with such a balance in life, work hard, play even harder.

My mom had a TIA a little over a year ago. It was scary, and I even had to be her advocate at her local ER at one point. When you was trying to get that top beam over into that other post, I suddenly noticed that I had one hand up in the air like I was going to help if it slipped. LOL

Diablo makes the best metal cutting blades and wood blades for that matter. Worked in metal stud framing for years and tried many. The saws made for metal cutting do have a much lower RPM and increased torque and should be used with these blades if you plan on using them for any longer length of time. Also, don't forget your ear PPE.
