This mid-drive e-bike is a cut above for an e-bike priced where it is. In our Ride1UP Prodigy ST review we will look at each of the features that make it such a terrific value.
Ride1UP begins with a 250W Brose mid-drive motor that produces a potent 90Nm of torque. It is powered by a 504Wh Samsung battery that gives it notably more range than the company’s own estimates. Thanks to its torque sensor, the acceleration is immediate and responsive.
The components package is similarly upscale thanks to the selection of a 9-speed Microshift drivetrain and 4-piston Tektro Orion hydraulic disc brakes.
This is a ready-to-go commuter e-bike that comes equipped with front and rear lights, fenders, a rear rack and kickstand. Plus it comes in the step-thru version here and a larger version with a traditional frame.
Plenty of spec to like, and a pretty good price when you consider the motor, but how does it perform? Catch the full Proidyg ST review to find out.

riding with crooked handlebars really inspires your work ethic
I know it’s a great value for what you get but with a bike with so much range I would prefer a suspension fork up front. I went with the Ride1Up Turris and am super impressed with the ride, comfort, and value.

There will definitely be those asking for suspension, and the Turris is a great option for that. Still nice and light, can make it a bit easier with bumps.
If you’re chasing performance (range, speed, ride quality) you likely go from 500/750w hub drives, to dual motors to mids. The Bafang mids with 160nm of torque are really hard to beat right now. What I want unfortunately retails for $5K which puts building a custom bike myself into the mix. For now I’m enjoying the Keteles K800 dual motor that’ll hit 34/35mph. But one day I’ll build a C/F framed e-monster to solve for the desire to go faster, farther on a lighter bike.
This is a 14 Ah battery on a 36V system. Definitely get the XC if you're taller and don't need a step-thru!

XC is a fun bike!
Would love to see a shootout of low priced mid drives. The prodigy vs the Himiway Premium commuter

Great video idea! We'll see if we can do something along those lines.
I would like to see it have the 1,500 watt Bafang mid drive with maybe a 10 speed and 52 tooth front sprocket. 52V and 17.5. ah.

Not sure you're picking up what this bike is putting down if you're changing that much :)

@@ElectricBikeReport haha. I know I'm off the beaten path here. However, I would love to see a powerhouse offering from them with a commuter bike that has even more street cred.

It's not a commuter, but if a powerhouse is what you're after from them then the Revv is still worth a look.

@@ElectricBikeReport Give me a bike that goes 35 mph and I'm all ears on its other virtues 👍
Why do electric bikes look odd like electric cars?

Conceal the batteries. Check out the Ride1up Roaster or Gravel edition, it does not look like an ebike at all.

Odd how? We've looked at them for too long and they look normal now to us.
