I just got one of these and they updated the display. It's now color screen. The display also turns completely off. The lights can still be turned on, horn, and turn signals all still work despite the bike being "OFF". Heybike needs to make it where if the bike is off..it should be off! The steam for the handlebar doesn't feel secure. Also this bike has a lot of ghost pedaling and I don't like how quickly the motor takes over to assist. I've played with it a few times and it still seems to come on too quickly. I have not been able to reach 28 mph. The fastest I've gotten the bike to go is about 23 mph and I have the 750 version.

Honestly, this entire product is shocking. Aventon put together maybe the highest rated commuter bike of all time with the Level 2, truly a phenomenal bike, but they leaned on the 500w motor that they helped build. It was an amazingly good build, but still 500w. Not legal in the EU, and not really comparable to what the higher end is doing with 250w, with my favorite probably being the top end of Brose. That being said, this is a 250w motor that they designed with a new company I believe, and it comes out and trounces everyone with torque power, while having an amazing range. So this bike is fully EU legal, no throttle, limited to 250w, and this is how they step in to the higher end bracket? This bike is groundbreaking, and is pushing the affordability of truly top end mtb to a lot of people. I am honestly stunned by this bike, and if I was in the market for an eMTB I would buy this in an instant.

Its funny how rad very, very obviously makes their models compatible with the kitsap seattle-bremerton fast ferry's terrible racks (rad bikes are thr most common ebike among those commuters by far). The 2.2 tires are just right for the racks, everything is sealed and shielded from the salt water, theres plenty of room to spin the front wheel around to fit the rack. And that motor is basically custom tailored to seattle hills. I'm looking at a new ebike to go with the ride1up core 5 that my wife and i share, and rad has always tempted since they are just ao robust and reliable for the other commuters. But the only thing that always makes me hesitate is the weight. Rad makes them heavy AF. And when you sometimes need to carry your bike down the stairs to the light rail because the elevators break constantly, i want closet to 50lbs than 70 when i have saddlebags and a backpack on

This "review" is not honest, it is not a production motorbike. This thing is ugly as sin and way too small for the rider who looks completely ludicrous on it. Obviously this atrocity is not meant to be pedaled, but therefore should, as the electric motorcycle it is, stay off any public path without registration. It's about time there's a crackdown on these nuisances. Yours truly, an ebike rider.

We're noticing a trend of brands reducing tire size in recent months. I'm sure 4" tires will still be around, but 3" seems to be the new norm.

I just found out the brake cable needs to be stretched to its limit to avoid the attached front basket. This is an brake performance issue if a work around can't be found. Right now, the only solution is not not attach the front basket. Are you guys aware of this and do u have a work around ? Thanks.

Does the drive make more positive contact at the rotor if you're using metal pads instead of resin or ceramic? And how does it perform in the wet. And is there regenerative braking, or does it freewheel when the power is off coasting downhill? Great concept, but for the money you could effectively buy an entry level pedal assist electric bike... made in China.

Very much looking forward to your Brompton ebike review. You might also want to review the Zizzo e-Forte electric bike (under a thousand dollars, came out late 2023). One thing to consider is bike weight handling by shorter or lighter people. I know someone who loved the fit of the Synch 2 so bought it, then discovered that the bike was too heavy to keep upright if it started to tip, so fell multiple times...this person has had both shoulder joints replaced and both spouse and this person have had back surgeries. So they also have trouble getting it into their car. For a lot of folks, ebikes in the under 50# range are much easier to handle, load, pedal unpowered, than those in the 60-80 or higher pound range. edited for typos

Wildeway FW11 3.0 comes with a 48 volt 32 ah battery. 32 ah is incredible. I bet it would crush the range on these. It has plenty of power, decent features, and I got mine for $779. They are lesser known, but I've had 0 issues with mine so far. You can get the 4.0 for more if you want Hydraulic disc brakes. You guys should check them out.

I placed an order today for 2 ebikes from Mokwheel. I received the order confirmation and it was wrong, and not what was ordered - I took a screen shot of my order! Mokwheel charged my CC within minutes of my order being placed. I have tried to contact Mokwheel by phone and email many time times today to correct the order. NO REPLY!!! I left my last message that if they didn't contact me today by 4PM, I was cancelling order through my CC company. As was posted, there appears to be ZERO customer service...and this is an order problem before the bikes are even shipped. Can't imagine what it would be like for a warranty problem! It's sad that the bikes look good, but the customer service is sooooooo bad!

We have not yet tested anything from this brand. It's hard to comment without knowing what brands manufacture the components on the bike (the webpage doesn't share much), but I'd say it depends on what you plan to do with it. At its price, we wouldn't expect the suspension to hold up to long-term application of some of the extreme activities shown in the promotional footage (i.e. jumping). If you're riding primarily on smoother paved surfaces, that might be a different story.

I have been riding ebikes for 14 years. Im on my sixth bike. One point that is rarely addressed is battery replacement. It is very important that you will be able to acquire a replacement battery. Batteries get wet and fail, they get stolen, they will all lose charge over time, I have had 2 that quit accepting charge, balancing internal wires can loosen causing failure. If you ride a lot, at some point battery replacement will be important. I wonder about internal frame batteries future availability,

Great question! We'll give you a couple options. The Aventure.2 is a great all-around choice; it's big, comfortable, and tons of fun. The Radster Trail is similar but feels a bit more like a regular bike because of its narrower tires. And then the Mokwheel Obsidian's full suspension will make it a bit more comfortable if users will be riding over rough and rocky terrain.

I really like the Portola’s specs but ride quality may trump that for me. The fact that the handle bar height is not adjustable on the Portola is a bummer. I was so close to buying the Portola but now I’m leaning towards the Fold. At $999 it should have been an easy choice but with it being $200 more makes it a harder choice.

Do not understand why the Aipas A2 was not on this list? At $699, looks like it came in from the same assembly line as the Lectric 3.0 except in different colors, has a 750w motor where the 3.0 only has a 500w motor. Only downside is the 3.0 has hydraulic brakes. I am leaning towards the Aipas which seems best purchase for the $.
