    I think what Ricky did with the tissues at the funeral and how it made everyone giggle is really, really lovely. I have a best friend who in eight years of knowing her I barely ever saw shedding a tear EVER. So once I asked her "If I were to die suddenly in a car crash or something, would you not cry at my funeral?" and immediately she went "No, of course not!" I was of course flabbergasted, but then she went "Look, do you want to be the cause for me crying or for me laughing? For you, I will smile at your funeral." I learned something for life that day from my very wise friend, and if I ever do die before her I'll make sure to visit my funeral to see my best mate smile. :)

    +SingenStatt Atmen Yeah I think it shows Ricky had a really good relationship with his mum otherwise he wouldn't have done what he did at the funeral. It's like me and my nan really. My overriding memory of her is her laughing... she always had time for a joke and I smile when I think of her, I'm never sad. It's easy to do that now, although I have to admit at the time of the funeral I was on the verge of tears. Even though I knew she wouldn't want people to cry, it does take a rare insight (as you said of your friend, wisdom) to know to say goodbye with a smile.

    Correct, it's pathetic...just how pathetic is especially apparent on vids like this one which are absolutely hilarious and nobody would need to fake laugh. Ppl are either mindless sheep following ''the cool trend'' or they've read so many coms. that ''they start seeing it, they see the faking'' -.- like they had to analyze it for some months :)))...they had no problem w/ his laugh and they've ruined Jimmy for themselves by letting the coms. influence them.

This is a freaking hilarious vid., even Ricky is laughing at his own stories, Jimmy has no reason to fake laugh...you know, ppl decide to fake laugh for a reason -.- That is how he's been laughing for 20 years on camera. You can see him hanging on Ricky's every word, he's loving it, 0:52 leaning on the desk w/ his head in his hand like a school girl day dreaming of a boy crush.

    Voicu Violeta- Jimmy's just known for his fake laugh here on these comments & I too didn't pick up on it this time until the very end. He may have thought it funny, but usually when he finds true humor, he turns it around into a joke with some fast wit. If he makes no joke, he's faking his way through it.

  • @violeta585

    @violeta585

    tkmaz I know the comments, I'm a regular ;) and I think ppl exaggerate w/ all the fake laugh coms. Recently it became this pathetic, sorry cool thing to say -.- Tokyo, here, recently joined this trend of saying the same thing on every video, even when Jimmy's laughter doesn't bother him...like in this vid. Here it's so clear that he enjoys Ricky, he's super engaged in the conv. & hanging on Ricky's every word. It's really pathetic, I've seen ppl say ''I can see it now, he is faking'' -.- like they had to analyze it for a while :))) they're either sheep joining the ''cool trend'' or reading the coms. influenced them so much that Jimmy's laugh started to annoy them and they don't even know it...they ruined Jimmy for themselves. PATHETIC! I've been a long time fan and I disagree, a comeback isn't THE tell that he truly finds smth. funny b/c he cannot relate to some topics, like fat jokes, and he cannot always contribute, but can appreciate them. Chances are that if everybody laughs, he also finds it funny b/c he's easily amused. A sure tell is when he points his finger to the person, but he does that mainly when he is *surprised* by how funny the pers. is, hiding/touching his face is another one...

  • @TokyoKazama

    @TokyoKazama

    Voicu Violeta That's true, I thought that as well, I've seen him laugh several times at things that aren't funny by anyone's standards. At these points he tends to clap his hands, slap his desk, and even laugh before the punchline to a joke (that ones my favourite). Therefore I concluded that in this case, he wasn't genuinely listening to Gervais and instead laughing as to make Gervais feel as comfortable as possible on the show. I've got a theory, you see. Here me out on this. Perhaps Jimmy is completely aware of how 'unfunny' he is, so by filling the show up with a lot of laughter (mainly his own), he causes others to laugh and in that atmosphere *emotional contagion* occurs just like the spread of a yawn. Viewers leave feeling like the show was funnier than it was. I guarantee individuals would find most of the interviews 10x less funny if they were watching it at home instead of from the audience. On the other hand, I'm completely wrong and Jimmy just finds everything totally hysterical. Also, I didn't follow it, I started it. x

    it's more because of people being afraid that the kidnapper will drag their asses to court because you punched him too hard, because in the UK people have been arrested for resorting to violence to stop a crime. try shit like that in germany, where using violence to defend yourself and others is not only legal, but encouraged, and the whole afair might have worked out quite differently.

    Why do people who loathe Jimmy's laugh regularly watch his videos? Very odd. Anyways. Every talk show host has a fake laugh. It makes the guests look good when they're sharing a not-so-funny anecdote. Jay Leno's was worse. I think most of Jimmy's laughs are real. Anyone who's watched him on SNL knows he could barely get through a skit without breaking character and laughing. It made the skit even funnier. Jimmy's a great host because he's able to make his guests feel comfortable (or competitive) enough to act like themselves and not like A Celebrity.

    It's called polite laughter people, look it up. It's when someone is saying something funny and you want to be polite. There's nothing wrong with that, in fact it's the polite thing to do. Do you seriously genuinely laugh out loud whenever someone tells a joke? No, but it doesn't mean you didn't like the joke. Politeness helps human interaction.

    Do you watch it to hear Jimmy talk? What the fuck is wrong with you? How boring are you? Of course people watch for the guests, you fucking idiot. I can't help but insult you for saying such a dumb fucking thing without even thinking.

    FFS I can't unhear his fake laugh THANKS GUYS, I literally didn't even think it was fake and now I can't take any of his interviews seriously. Jimmy is a great host anyway,why can't he just enjoy his success without people being like HE'S FAKE HE'S FAKE! TO BE HONEST you people probably can't even tell if it's fake or not, everyone's probably using their 'omfg I can tell if it's autotune' style comment because they think they're more perceptive than everyone else when in fact NO ONE KNOWS. I hate how people say it as if it's fact, unless you know for sure then don't say it.

    Everyone shut the fuck up about Jimmy's laughter. It's no more fake than any other talk show host's. Even if you think it's a little over the top, he's just trying to be nice and courteous to people. He might not feel like laughing at every single thing said on the show, but he tries to make his guests look good and feel good by giving them a laugh. And most of the time, he sounds pretty genuine anyway.
