Ricky is always great in any interview lol hes so confident

He wants the XFM days back, where him, steve and the goldmine Karl would blow our minds and put on the floor with laughter. I still listen to the podcasts, they're like time capsules to me.

The cartoon podcasts are hilarious. Someone said to me the other day that Karl was dumb. I said no he’s not, he views the world and things in it different to most but the things he says aren’t dumb. When Ricky asks he to answer stuff he answers in a way that he’s given great thought to the details of something that people don’t question or think about. Like his book of freaks, when he’s showing Ricky certain things in that book. There’s so much about Karl that is funny. I mean if he can make Ricky laugh then that’s something, and I’ll add Karl is just being himself. But I do love hearing Ricky laugh cause his laugh is amazing. When Ricky and Steve read out Karl diary segment, that’s hilarious. I love the three of them together.

Not at all. I just read over my comment and questioned why I wrote that sentence lol. Ricky laughs at a lot of stuff. Yes he’s a natural at comedy but he’s not even trying. I know he’s said in the past that stupidity is amusing. I’ve been watching the relationships between Ricky, Karl and Steve for years. It’s Gold. Ricky said from the first moment he met Karl and Karl spoke that he loved him. They are the total opposites of each other and best friends. Karl’s personality, the way he thinks and analyses things is amazing. I just love the three of them. Yeah that comment I wrote saying if you can make Ricky laugh…….I literally have no idea wtf I wrote that because he laughs at everything lol.

Wishful thinking. Karl, for all intents and purposes, has grown up since the podcasts/xfm days. His world views have changed and he has become infinitely more intelligent than he was. He's now a TV writer and producer as well as an author. He now has a perception of what made him funny and unfortunately, him not knowing why he was funny back then is what made him funny, and that side of him is gone forever now. You stick to your time capsules/podcasts because it wouldn't be anywhere near as funny as that and thankfully all three of them are intelligent enough to know this.

You can assume that Ricky has met Karl and his brother. ‘Meet’ means coming into the presence or company of someone, so it’s safe to say Ricky had already met his brother... you’re clutching at straws now.

His laugh is so beautiful.

@@wp3158 Yes it is. The quote is a play on age: young and impulsive (rebellious/stupid) = HERO, old and wise (conformist/fearful) = VILLIAN. The quotes an observation on how we ALL go from being hero to villain as our attitudes transform during young to old. If you want an example, look at Madonna! Although 'young' is the most important part of the quote it unfortunately gets overlooked today by everyone re/posting it.

Tom John Karl needed to be pushed, he wasn't funny without Ricky/Steve at the beginning and he didn't want to have any involvement with the public. He hated the idea of people seeing his face, he didn't like talking to much as he was worried he'd say something stupid. Ricky and Steve put him on the radio, pushed him to talk, gave him confidence to not care if he said something dumb, pushed him to get his face out on posters/MTV, pushed him to go out of his safety zone and try acting etc. To say the show was all Karl and/or pretend Ricky lived off him and they did nothing for Karl is ridiculous. Steve has also said in numerous interviews that there was NO falling out. Ricky Karl and Steve had been on air together for 10years and felt like it was starting to get repetitive. All 3 went their separate ways and have found success. Also Karl wanting his own show was not a reason to split, his new show for example came up out of boredom as after he retired he was just sitting about and hated it. He isn't nor was he ever trying to be a well known fella demanding his own show etc.

I dig CHILD SUPPORT, but it is a cheap show, in that they NEVER have to give away much money, because either the contestants quit early, OR if they go on they end up blowing the funds since eventually they can't answer something and the kids don't know it either, and the kids, a lot of times, they know things they shouldn't, or don't know something they should have gotten! PLUS, you can tell they are going to blow it or not by how the show is edited, in other words, the show ends within the hour or so, so if they are on during the last segment, they must blow it, unless they quit.

Please have him host the Globes again!! If not in 2019, 2020!

Recently been watching Ricky and just listen to how many times he says "I".

Wow, I lived in Asia the past 15 years. Kathie Lee Gifford is still GORGEOUS!!!

I really dislike impatient people who ask you a question and then interrupt you when you give an answer or start giving your answer, due to their own self-delusion. Ricky's very gracious.

I like Kathy Lee patting Ricky on the back. It shows how nice and affectionate she is as a perfect. Fast forward to present day. If that was a man who did that it would be a different story, particularly if your name is Joe Biden. I hope this kind of Physical contact and connection never goes out of style. We need to be able to connect at a human level. We need it.

Ricky's omission of Karl here might strike some as odd, maybe a little shocking. But when you consider that Ricky & Karl met when Ricky was on the cusp of 40, and within a short period Ricky viewed Karl as his best friend, and his first phone call each day. As for Steve, well...if you believe Ricky's words over the last five years, you'd never guess that he had a collaborator.

I found this after falling into KZread of Ricky. I feel bad for Kathy. I used to watch her on live and loved her. On here she can’t even remember rickys last name? And Hoda covers for her a lot. I don't think so at all, I think you may be projecting. He seems to be having a good time. I love that Ricky goes on these sort of silly shows, but is perfectly nice and pleasant, and has a laugh.

They co-wrote the office, Merchant directed it and Gervais acted in it. So it was very much a joint effort.

That's the point about comedy I think bob would just liable him as the joke and if it's lost on some people you've got a headache on your hands
