The weirdest thing about these podcasts is how strikingly similar to Karl Pilkington Diane Morgan is, almost a carbon copy sometimes, yet it never gets mentioned by any one of them in the studio. Ricky's clearly fucking with the fans. He knows what he's doing!

Not listened to this one yet (I usually wait for them to come out on iTunes) but Diane never seems to mention Philomena Cunk either, it makes me wonder if that the character is based on Karl

I think it's pretty obvious to be honest. Steve and Karl's solo careers took off so they no longer needed Ricky. I really think it's that simple.

Renewed RS He’s not in any way overrated. He is somewhat egotistical. Clearly something, however, happened behind the scenes. It’ll probably never come out-but for as long as it doesn’t, it paints Ricky in a bad light.

Sanjeev Bhaskar? RICKY: Yeah, great! Why not? PRODUCER: What will you discuss with him? RICKY: Well, he's Asian, isn't he? How about racism? PRODUCER: Perfick! But don't forget to lead it in slowly. How about letting him tell historical racism anecdotes first, you mock the people in his stories who saw him only as an Asian man and nothing else, then continue and continue the anti-racist theme yourself and hope nobody realises you're just like all those other idiots who only saw him as an Asian man clearly not worthy of discussing any other topics than what relate to the colour of his skin? Unfortunately I am old enough to remember when Ricky's primary concern was being funny, and not preachy.

Grandad's back, ranting about twitter again. Shame. I have another theory - if Ricky perceives one of his guests as higher status than him, it unnerves him and his defense is to go to script about things he feels comfortable saying. When it's just Diane and one of his support acts he can relax and be the comedy genius we all know he is.

Ricky Gervais is deadly senile.. Same boring stories recycled (curtains, shelves) Same guests every week. “The thing about offensive comedy is...” “Twitter is like graffiti on a toilet wall” Bring back Merchant and do something worth while. Your loosing it Rick... you were a podcast Lion once.
