what really happened was he was doofus ricks grandson who was as smart as rick if not smarter and was entangled by the Morty paradox which he hated because since his rick was handicapped they gave him to other ricks to use and abuse... he got tired of it and hacked his current rick into a slave and used him just as they used him and all other Morty's.. He gained knowledge of all the ricks in the citadel which resulted in him getting the presidency he wasn't evil just tired of being used and disappointed in all of the other Morty's

I don't think that's the case. I think he find other Ricks pathetic for not living up to their potential. With Rick C-137 it's a double hit, because Prime thinks that he's not only a joke for living with the family, he point's out that he is not even a better person, because he would be like Prime, if Prime wouldn't find him first. And he uses his dying breaths to make that clear. It's no jealousy, it's feeling superior to the very end.

I think you missed the point, he literally revealed that C-137 actually did what Prime said he would. He literally walked into his house. Sure it was the result of what he did himself, but the fact that he actually bonded with his Morty is what actually proved that C-137 literally wouldn't be any different, the difference is that he struck first in a vicious cycle paradox, he knows himself better than anyone which is also why the memory Rick didn't want a actual body seeing how Rick became. It is truly an inevitability that Rick becomes Prime and to be fair, Prime isn't over with infinite possibilities means he will be back canonically. Also, with infinite possibilities, then wouldn't there be a whole set of infinities where Diane was never killed from that weapon? Infinite does mean infinite, but it is the lowest numerical value of the infinite series.

There are no realities with Rick’s wife and family, etc. The central finite curve is all of the realities with Rick in them and with the omega device every version of his wife was destroyed. So yes there are infinite universes but the central finite curve is all that matters canonically when it comes to the characters and it’s finite

I do love that rick prime can do nothing to stop his punches, he probably had all kinds of backup plans for gis weapons and gadgets but one of the smartest men in the universe never thought another snart man would just punch him.

Evil Morty was always dangerous because Ricks don't expect Morty's to be smart within the Central Finite Curve. The whole point is that Rick is the smartest man in the universe and for safety measures, his genius brainwaves are cancelled out by Morty's stupidity. It's actually very weird that Evil Morty is as smart as he is considering that would mean the Morty mental shield wouldn't work on his universe's Rick. Morty's are also bred to be forever tolerant, so one attacking a Rick doesn't seem plausible.

The whole point of all Evil Morty’s plans and actions were to set up his version of a limited multiverse in which he is the smartest person and outside the control of the limited multiverse of the Ricks. He found out how the Ricks did it and did it for himself with the Rick version inside his one. For a Rick to beat him they have to come from outside his limited multiverse, which is impossible.

@@lunolionreacts2362 My point was that Evil Morty has created his own central finite curve that engulfs every universe in which he is the smartest being, which is only possible to gain access to if you’re inside it. The old central finite curve barrier was where Ricks were in charge, but that has been replaced with Evil Mortys being in charge. Once Rick fixed the tear in the universe he was protected from the Evil Mortys again by his central finite curve. That’s the point of it. Another being inside the Evil Morty central finite curve would need to beat Evil Morty and break his central finite curve in order to get out of it to the next level. The curves are like locked doors. Rick is currently locked in a room inside Morty’s flat, who has his door locked to the rest of the block of flats, which has a front door locked to the outside world. Evil Morty can’t just wonder into Rick’s room and nobody can enter Morty’s flat.

Revenge doesn’t make anything better in fact it makes things worse, Rick waste decades trying to find Rick prime and kill him that was his purpose for so long that everything else became mundane because the biggest thrill he had was not getting revenge but chasing. This gives a really good message which to me is don’t hold a grudge cause everything else will become meaningless.

Honestly I think they did a good job making this feel unsatisfying and empty. The fact that Rick didn't even beat Rick Prime and the lack of music as Rick punches him makes the whole revenge feel hollow

This is what every Jerry always warns their Beth about: Morty needs to be a regular kid and not go on these wacky adventures that could get him killed or worse, turn into Rick. But since every Beth has abandonment issues with their Rick's, she undermines him and takes Rick's side. Which drives some Jerry's into staying in the Jerry Day Care

Morty would probably suggest another adventure but there is no point. And I guess the family(except Rick) might make fun of Jerry's suffering and Jerry would run to Doofus Rick's world. Which is an opening for a new villain: Doofus Jerry, a variation of Jerry who never met Beth and is a evil successful businessman who owns a theme park and all other businesses. Rick explains in the comics that if a Jerry suffers then it's more power to a Rick but if a Rick suffers than a Jerry gets power. And since Rick is no longer motivated, Doofus Jerry has the power to take over Rick's dimension.

In an infinite universe the distinctions between you and others blur. The level of hyper-acute details becomes maddening. Rick's walled off these universes to a specific subset, making the central finite curve. This was to limit that madness and create something comfortable for themselves. Rick Prime has it all in the name. He's the true, "Rickest Rick". Prime means, "of first importance". It also is a subset of numbers. In this universe Rick defined himself by his own personal importance and set out upon the universe. Sooner or later he spots our Rick. Seemingly the same in every way, he kick-starts this Rick's science telling him to free himself, to be like him. But this isn't another Rick Prime. He found someone so similar, but so ridiculously opposite to himself it drove him mad. He made Rick Composite. That's who our Rick really is. The Rick that put others first. Composite numbers, unlike primes, are divisible by two. Rick and Morty. Beth and Jerry. This Rick is defined by his attachments and in so doing, moved right into Rick Prime's leftover life. They were exactly the same except for this distinction. This drove Prime made, because it HAD to be about him. He couldn't understand how Rick could give it all up just to put other people first. He couldn't understand the joy in it. This is why Evil Morty helps him, because deep down this Rick really cares. Not just about Morty, but about all of them... And while Rick Prime supposedly edited out all Diane's, that's a red herring. The truth is Rick can't bring himself to go anywhere near any Diane whatsoever. They're not his Diane. Prime Rick made it easier for him to avoid them, but Rick Composite? He wouldn't do it anyway. That's why, "Time Travel" is on the shelf. He went back to see her already, but chose to leave her in the past. Why? Because he's likely seen enough to know that Diane's death wasn't their only issue. Whatever they had, Rick was likely dependent on Diane. He's Rick composite. He was taking more than he deserved from Diane. Bringing her back with Time Travel doesn't change what may have happened between them. He needed Diane, just as he needs the Smith family. And so he broke that chain and escaped into the infinite universe, to let Diane rest in peace. The family, all in their own way, hate Rick. Rick tortures himself with a robot that sounds like Diane and he makes all his machines have feelings so they too, are as tortured as he is. Because life is pain. And Composite Rick takes over Prime's life, because Prime didn't appreciate them. He does. He might be bad for them, nearly as toxic... but at the core, he puts them first. And so they are his real family. Because there's this sliver in their hearts, because they knew Rick Prime their whole lives. Then one day... he was different. This Rick cared. It's not Diane, but something in time is causing him to stay away... but not from this family. Rick Prime was driven mad by this, because seeing him be happier? That can't be possible. That would mean Rick Prime isn't the Rickest Rick. He's not the happiest Rick. ... and that broke him with jealousy, anger and worse... curiosity. How the hell could a Rick be happier putting others first? As if that needed a straight answer. That was his motivation. Horrific curiosity.

There is no Morty C-137, Beth died as a child and never could have had him. Our Morty is Morty Prime, while Evil Morty is Morty 79-Turnstile-Superset-V.

this was so unsatisfying. they could have literally make every act in that episode into a whole episode by itself and easily fill a whole season... it all just happened way to quick for my taste and the show has become a shell of itself. lets hope they finally stop their whole pseudo-intellectual narrative and just go back to story based fun adventures

@rhumphrey1980 ok pickle rick was alright. Personally, I thought Jaguar was the icing of that episode. Clearly, wouldn't have been shit without him. And the vat episode was a joke.

For all the build up and all the effort the show puts into trying to do more than just do an action movie, was this satisfying or interesting for anyone? Rick Prime had no character at the end beyond being a Marvel-styled quipper to the end. Rick had nothing to say, and basically got babysat through his own revenge. It was bland, and seemed to know it such that it had to dump as much gore as possible to pretend it was at least being "mature" or "adult" when it felt like a 13 year old's revenge fantasy put on screen.

Boooooring overrated show...

This was lack luster for me. The rickest thing to do would be to hook him up to a perpetual torture machine. Rick literally had a garage full of people who wanted to be friends with him living out thier lives in a drug coma, tortures jerry at every opportunity, and murdered countless ricks just looking for this guy. I feel it would have been better to have him hooked up amd screaming and gets bored and just leaves him like that til 3 seasons later when power goes out or they have to leave universes again and he just forgets to kill him.

I think that adds to it. This isn’t some guy who took a dump in his private toilet or some irritating supervillain. Rick Prime was a heartless psychopath who responded to another Rick refusing his offer of inter-dimensional travel (which you would have to assume is an eventuality, due to literally infinite possibilities) by destroying that Rick’s wife and young daughter by blowing them up. He then proceeded to eliminate ALL versions of his wife (who he abandoned, along with his own daughter likely just after he discovered dimensional travel) across all realities. He was then fully willing to wipe out the rest of his biological and legal family with the same type of device, including his daughter and his grandchildren. Who knows what he would have done after that. Would he have erased the friends of Rick’s family? His enemies? Their associates? If left to his own devices, he could have very well have gone down a path of genuine omnicide across all of creation, leaving him as essentially the god of an empty omniverse. For our Rick, there’s no need for a fancy torture machine like what the Council of Ricks had (the one that swapped your conscious and unconscious mind, while constantly stabbing you in the crotch). He’s a different kind of Rick. And a different type of Rick won’t just torture someone like Rick Prime ad infinitum. He just needs his bare hands to beat Rick Prime into an unrecognizable mass of proteins and various connective tissues.
