@@silvercrow86 it's not a loophole Bcz the universe move foraward after the event happens but if rick were about to create a time travel then it was a loop hole. Every infinite universe move as constant as when he shot his portal gun. So the time remains the same but in every infinity they branches of the past event he had done before so it was branching like a root of the tree. That's why there are infinite kind of ricks and everyone

This being true explains why rick is the way he is so well. The dude was truly happy, he had a loving and supportive wife and a daughter that he loved, and then some jerk version of himself ripped it away from him because he didn't want to join the citadel and use their portal technology. Its crazy how Rick really was in the way of his own happiness.

To all the people pointing out that he didn’t lie about his “Origin story” the tragic death of his family wasn’t the lie, the idea that he instantly buckled down, solved the portal equation in his grief and leapt off to his destiny is the lie. We see later that he slipped into depression and wallowed for who knows how long, then made his house and neighborhood into a constant reminder of what he considered his greatest failure. All the most convincing lies are mixed with truth.

Deep silence, Then another rick and morty portal in and they look and their like "Oh jeez what happened" then the whole show resumes. This series will never die. Theres another theory that the Rick that killed his wife and daughter is from the future and that's why Rick wasn't able to find him. Heck it could even be his future self. Also we don't know if that Rick even killed C-137's family, it could be someone else that teleported the bomb.

My theory is that that one rick tried to recruit c 137 Rick to fight an omniversal omnipotent godlike entity that controls every universe inside and outside of the Central Finite Curve and replace said entity as the absolute god of everything. Rick refused, because that had nothing to do with him. So the other Rick (Lets call him Bombing Rick) killed Rick s wife and daughter. Rick tried to hunt down Bombing Rick , but could never find him, so in order to at least stop other Ricks to join Bombing Rick in his crusade for the absolute omniversal power, Rick created the Central Finite Curve to give all the ricks inside of it what they all wanted : Absolute Power, all the ricks inside the CFC were godlike and nigh-omnipotent, so they wouldnt need to go outside of the Central finite Curve to feel omnipotent, and they wouldnt join Bombing Rick on his Crusade

alright guys, so Rick has baby pictures of Morty AND memories of him as a baby, which evil Morty extracts from him. HOWEVER, Beth says he's been gone for twenty years. We also know that he can jump dimensions. So I have two conflicting theories. Either evil Morty IS Rick's original Morty, whom Rick left for dead and is now trying to exact his revenge, OR Rick's original Morty died. Either way, Rick hopped into a timeline where their Rick's been dead for years, and just came back and took their Morty, which is the Morty we see in the show.

@@meiseve2683 its not Rick's beth, well it is but not the rick we know Beth, kinda, it's a Beth from a different universe that Rick went to and stayed, the Beth that we see all grown up had that universes Rick abandoned her when she was a child.

since the creators said a part of this is real, i think everything except beth dying is real. i think diane died and rick raised beth but disappeared around the time she met/married jerry. he jumped into a dimension where diane was alive and stayed there, and took both summer and morty on missions. but he tested on morty and might have gotten summer hurt, and turned morty into evil morty by accident so he ran back into his original dimension where diane is dead. this is just a draft and there's probably a few holes in it, but that's what i think is rick's backstory.

flying otter It’s been suggested that in the opening the Morty that Rick leaves behind by jumping through a portal is his original Morty AKA Evil Morty. Basically he helped raise Evil Morty and he ended up becoming the Rickiest Morty because he was as hyper-intelligent as his grandfather.

Watching this episode for the first time, you think that Rick is just a great improviser seeing as how he ended up tricking the agent and escaping. But after the Season 5 finale, you realise that all of this was a memory, a REAL experience that happened. Rick isn't acting when he hides his eyes from the scene or falls to his knees, he's going through such great lengths to escape that he's reliving the worst moment of his whole life.

BRO THIS ALL MAKES SENSE NOW THAT WE FOUND OUT THAT BETH IS ACTUALLY DEAD AND RICK HAS BEEN LIVING WITH VERSIONS OF HER AND WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN😳😳

Something I realised... This whole thing just started becuse our Rick and Rick Prime both just had different views on interdimensional travelling. Rick Prime only though about the good side of it, the freedom and power. While our Rick only though about the bad side, the lonelyness and emptyness of when nothing really matters. Unfortunatly, Rick Prime couldn't tolerate a different opinion.

Rick literally is on his knees looking as if he’s about to cry. And the alien is like, “this sauce is fucking amazing.”

Anybody came back here after the first episode of season 6

Okay, theory: After Rick C-137 watched his family die, he sought revenge against the Rick who did it and along the way met Bird Person. Eventually he accomplished his goal and settled down with an abandoned Beth, maybe even the daughter of the Rick who killed his. Anyway, doing the math (Beth is probably about 34), Rick could have been there for most of Morty’s life…until something went wrong and he had to bail. What went wrong? Well, it occurred to me that in all 5 seasons of the show, the opening (known for mixing canon and non-canon) has had the same 2 clips no matter what. Rick abandoning Morty on the frog planet, and them being chased by Cthulhu. What if Morty “died” on one of those adventures and he couldn’t face that Beth. So he jumped to another reality in which he had left when she was a kid and Morty never knew him. As for the abandoned Morty, he actually survived and spent the next few years plotting his revenge… *For the Damaged Coda plays*

You got the first part correct. Sadly he never found the rick that killed his family.

The more I watch this, the more I realize that Douche Rick (alleged killer of C-137's family) is older with longer hair & noticeable grey hairs, has darker skin tone, and is wearing an outfit that we have never seen any Rick wear for 5 seasons. Also, this is occurring within the central finite curve (CFC) since Douche Rick mentioned that C-137 Rick was the smartest person on Earth at the time. And that he had the chance to be a God wherever he traveled. So the CFC was 100% not invented by C-137 Rick, plus Douche Rick is using the green portal fluid that further symbolizes this. Douche Rick even alludes to this, saying that he'll never be the first to access portal tech cause somebody else already figured it out. But another question arises, where is Douche Rick? If he were outside of the CFC, then surely his portal fluid wouldn't be green? And surely he wouldn't be the smartest person in the world that he travels to next? And surely this Rick ISNT the smartest person on Earth? Yet, Douche Rick contradicts every single one of these points. What we do know is based off the grey hairs, overgrown haircut, and alien-like clothing, this Rick is older and is serving a function that involves directly manipulating the Ricks' timeline. It maybe like the time travel Police, but for Ricks. And as seen in S05E10, the citadel of ricks already went to great lengths to generate more mortys, so imagine what primitive ricks would do to ensure they had Rick-less worlds to bounce off of? My conclusion after watching this is: Douche Rick may just be a sort of cop for Ricks, to make sure that there will be plenty of Ricks to abandon their families, so that Beth meets Jerry to hopelessly fall in love with, all to create more morty's that disguise the other ricks from the galactic federation. So in season 5 the reveal was that Morty's were manufactured for the benefits of their Rick, now the future twist will be that C-137 RICK was manufactured to fulfill the selfish desires of every other Rick in the CFC. The Rickest Rick of them all never even wanted to be a Rick after all, he just wanted to be a family man. If our Rick got what he desired all along, that must mean one less world to ruin in the CFC, which is something your average egotistical Rick could never allow.

If someone like rick was convinced he wanted to get married and raise a daighter he must have really felt diane was his soulmate at some point

Two sides of the Rick coin, one who wanted to do nothing except everything and the other one who wanted nothing that didn’t include his family. One free of attachments and one bound by one.

The only thing that was faked was how quickly after their death he figured out how to make the portal gun.

Damn S5 finale just blew my mind, had to come back and see thi is scene. Can’t believe it was all true…

I _knew_ he wasn’t lying, I just knew it. The emotions are too real, Rick is terrible with feelings. And it’s not like he needed to convince the alien because he’s barely paying attention. His irritation at the other Rick’s spiel, the way he can’t even look as they come out to the garage, how he falls to his knees in despair- that’s all real.

Think about it. Because of s5 ep 8 we now know that in Rick's og reality his beth died. That most likley means that most of this backstory is true. The ricks that left thier Beth's are the ones that said yes to interdimemsional travel, whilst the ones that came back are those that said no.

The Rickest Rick can't find the Rick who made him the best of all.

This actually happened. Then that means Morty is not really Rick's first Morty. The plot thickens

After watching season five, this scene hits differently

The only thing Rick lied about was that he built the gun right there after the scene, in reality he built it sometime after the incident and just for some pizza

It's interesting to think. Rick made this up, so how much of this conflict between "I care more about my family than science" Rick and "!@#$ everyone but me, I'm basically a god" Rick is internal monologue?

Damn it almost made me cry now seeing rick’s reaction to his family dying after the S5 Finale.

This might actually be true and not fabricated after Season 5 Episode 8.

It is interesting, out of all the universes that Rick packed together, there were lots of Beth's (to make Morty's) but none of them had a Diane in it. I love how there is still a whole arc about that some time in the future.

Actually, we already know why we haven't seen alternate Diane. In all the worlds where Diane lived, Rick turned down being the smartest in the universe. Therefore, all those worlds were locked outside of the Central Finite Curve. Now that the Curve is broken however...

In all the universes where "Rick is the smartest man" he chose the portal technology over his family and if that's true that means the ones that didn't don't exist in the finite curve the Rickiest Rick created since it wouldn't fit with himself being the smartest

Its kind of something when you think about. Diane is probably the thing that keeps a Rick grounded from reaching any form of infinite knowledge and that means that no Rick will reach that sort of potential unless they are gone.

Rick prime accuses rick c-137 of being as bad as him, and I think there's some truth to that. Ricks are generally callous, cruel, and manipulative towards others, with an obsession toward science. Rick says "I took a... look at myself," which is literally what he does. He sees himself as a selfish, narcissistic, asshole with close to divine aspersions. C-137 thinks that maybe he doesn't need to do that. Before he can begin to make changes to himself and his life, prime kills diane and beth.

Rick finally got his revenge for his family now his wife and his original daughter can finally be in peace🥹❤️💯

After this finale, this hits significantly different.

This whole thing coupled with the S5 ending makes you realize - there is no Mortiest Morty...because the Rickest Rick never actually had one since Beth never lived past her childhood. And Nimbus was right, he IS lonely.

The Rick that killed c-137s Diane and Beth had originally offered to share what he knew about inter dimensional travel, BUT our Rick says “pass” then the other one responds “Your a Rick, Ricks don’t pass” maybe killing Beth and Diane was the only way he could trigger C-137 to Snap.

It's truly a tragedy, as our Rick cared about his family (he intended to abandon science instead of abandoning his family, like rick prime did). Rick prime said it was a matter of time before Rick invaded his garage and did the same thing to him, but I don't think so. Rick denied his lonely godhood to gladly live with beth and his wife, which enraged Prime, because it made clear that Prime had a choice, and he chose terribly wrong. So Prime took away Rick's choice by killing his family, leaving only one path to be taken: the egoist science god.

Matthew Weatherly Rick is a stubborn guy who doesn't like to show weakness so whose to say this isn't actually real meanwhile he just says it isn't to make himself sound more mysterious? And is Rick at the most recent episode pretty much mostly cybernetic now? I mean he replaced his arm with a robotic one after the imaginary bird ripped it off.

It makes sense for this to happen. The Ricks that jump at the chance for interdimensional travel leave their Beths behind. While the ones who didn't are fraught with watching their loved ones die and eventually return to a Beth to relieve their guilt.

Rick is actually sad seeing Diane & Beth die. He is softer than he claims to be

The Normal Rick (Spoilers for finale but as OUR Rick) declines having all wishes and grants to be god because he has his family. So when his family was killed, he didn’t go all over the universe like other ricks… He just wants to avenge them. And how he was blatant to his family at first is because… It wasn’t *his* family. It was another’s family. Because he didn’t see Beth growing up all those years ago.

Just finished the last episode in Season 5. So apparently he never found out who that "Rick" was...

Wished they kept this Diane voice over the new one that sounds like nails grinding on a chalkboard

After the season 5 finale closing evil mortys story, it would be interesting if that Rick became the new main villain of Rick and morty

One of 2. Don’t forget Simple Rick.

This outlines so many things. 1 - This explains why Beth always has some feeling that she is a clone. (most likely because she has always been one, and likely is in every or most multi-verses.) 2 - Explains why Rick suddenly has a drinking problem after this memory. (Drinking due to the Loss of wife and child). 3 - It also explains why a man with infinite possibilities, universes and power would rather do nothing more than live with his Daughter. 4 - He most likely abandoned said clone wife and daughter to pursue the Rick that killed Them / or could not face the clones from guilt, and returned either after finishing his revenge or when enough time passed that he put it behind him and could face Beth again. By which time in either scenario, Ricks Cloned Wife Diane died from age or other circumstances.

This must have been tragic to relive his past again seeing his wife and daughter die once again years later but in a memory, yet he wasn't lieing

Technically, it's still a lie because we know he didn't figure out portal travel right after it happened so he technically *did* fabricate an origin story. God damn I love this show.
