I was looking at this when it came out, now that there are more demos, this thing sounds colossal on everything.

I love my stereo pair. Best thing I have heard in 500 series. To my ears, they smoke a Distressor at every job thrown at them.

Great EQ Got some weight within the lower mids ,not as dense as my JdK audio V14 EQ and not as bright as the SSL 611 EQ. Thx 4 the DEMO 😎

why do you have more than one EQ?

Do you mean more than one type of EQ? If so, EQs sound different depending on the type they are. For instance, the Great River 32EQs are a state-variable type of EQ that allows you to have more control over the tone than the API EQ's next to them. The API EQs are a passive bridged T filter that have broader Qs (although they do tighten up with more boost or cut). The API EQs also only have 7 frequencies per band in 2 and then 3 dB steps, so broader jumps and curves that don't necessarily work well if you need to get surgical with a track. The Great River have variable frequencies and variable boost and cut making them more flexible. Then there are EQs that have variable Qs on the bands. You can get in really tight, or broad. Variable Qs can get you into trouble easily however, and tend not to sound very musical in most instances.

Telefunken You Forty-Seven i thought those were 2 EQs next to each other. i was wondering if there was a reason for that

It certainly is. I have one. They are very finicky however. Spends more time on my bench than in the studio.

tatabeat Mostly the same. It's been a while since I worked on it, got tired of fixing it. I replaced some caps and drifted value resistors in the side chain. The trim pots are all in bad shape. I cleaned them as best I could, but they should be replaced. It works great for a while and then clamps all the way down as soon as the threshold is triggered, no matter where it's set.
