For the seat heater connector pins. This is the only hard part. 1-disconnect the harness. 2- disconnect the plastic housing from the bracket (pulling towards the pedal). 3- The Black and the White connectors are coupled together. They both have to be removed simultaneously. 4- Push the 4 sloped pins, top and bottom at the same time to disconnect (that is the aweful part).

This is accurate. The white and black clips must be removed together. It took me for ever to get them out.

If you swap out the bottom from a heated to nonheated and keep it unplugged, will it do anything more than throw a code?

The most challenging part of removing the seat is removing the seat heater connector. It would be nice if you showed that portion. Or, at least showed pictures of the procedure. Others have mentioned disconnecting the harness as the first step. Others have said both connectors (White and Black) need to be removed simultaneously. You show a disconnected harness, but nothing shows how to disconnect it. Does anyone have any tips? Also, how the heck do you push 4 pins at the same time to remove the two connectors? I'm assuming there are 4 because both connectors have a visible pin, and there are probably 2 on the other side. I'm considering cutting and splicing. Someone in another video did that because it was easier. It's only 2 wires.

I appreciate the effort to make a video, but your hands cover up the most important parts. Would be nice if your company would invest in a cameraman to point the camera at the actual work.

This must be an aftermarket seat pad? I just purchased from the dealership(11/23/22) "bottom pad," and it comes with the heating element, meaning it's all complete. Just pull the old one off and slip on a new one from the dealer for $350. I can't get that wire to unplug h3 shows in the pic 😫

Do you have a part number for the dealership item? This seat cover is a nightmare to replace. The blue plastic rods are impossible to attach to the clips unless you cut them shorter, because the length overlaps the heating element, so you can't make the "incision" as suggested in the video without cutting into the heating element, which of course would ruin the heater.

Cutting the pad along the attachment points kills the seat heater. It has fibers sewn throughout the grey padding.

@@rm2245 just be careful not to cut it and you’ll be fine. Yes I did exactly what he did above. One tip, there is an extra step for the electrical connector you need to remove for the seat as there is a tab on top and the bottom of it. I wasted 30 minutes on that. I also have a little storage compartment at the front of my seat on my glk. If you don’t have that in the way the job is much easier. In any event I’m quite happy with it as it is pretty much a perfect match and the cover is good quality.
