I have a 2004 Silverado HD work truck with the cloth seats. If I had seen this video, I would have ordered from The Seat Shop but a little over a year ago I bought a lower drivers cover and foam from Richmond. I couldn't be happier, it fit great, looks great and best of all, it feels fantastic sitting in the seat. Have had no trouble with it coming loose or any other fitment or function. I'm sure the leather is quite a bit different but good experience with Richmond here.

I just ordered a set of new covers to completely redo the front seats in my 2008 F350 Lariat from Richmond (because of reviews, advertised quality, and customer service). When I was searching ebay, there was not a listing for The Seat Shop, so I ordered what I hope is an excellent quality seat cover. I pride myself in keeping my vehicles as nice as possible, for as long as possible. After watching your video, it has raised a little concern with me. I will followup after the install. Thank you for the breakdown!

Purchased covers for my 2004 Avalanche. Viewed install videos. Also replaced back and bottom heaters. They turned out great. I recently orders all new leather upholstery for my 1999 Camaro SS from Richmond auto upholstery and the fit and finish was excellent!!! My SS has roughly only 70k miles but the passenger seat had a rip in it and the driver bolster was a little rough so I started by ordering just the passenger lower cover but after noticing the quality and fit and finish I was like “I should just do it all” and that’s exactly what I did and I couldn’t be happier and the customer service was excellent!!! We shall see how the seats hold up but as of now I consider myself a customer for life and already recommended them to a few friends

I am glad to see other Richmond Auto Upholstery customers who are happy with their products as I ordered and received full seat covers (drivers side) for my 2000 Suburban. I was offered a chance to upgrade to a thicker than OEM leather for about $50.00 extra so I went with that. Have not had time to install yet but will update when I do. Product looks very nice and well made and am looking forward to giving these a try. I will update upon finishing the install.

I do upholstery and have made numerous replacement covers especially like these GM styles. I completely love the Covers from the Seat Shop. When im to busy I've ordered from them and have had my customers also.. Never disa pointed!!! Thanks From Missourri

I have been on your site so many times it's embarrassing. I've had everything in the shopping cart and bailed multiple times. I was on ebay the other night and found seat covers for my 2005 GMC Yukon that I thought were as good as what you had. The reviews were good, so pulled the trigger. Somehow I never saw this video even though I have subscribed to your KZread channel over a year ago. Tonight while looking at your install video, for the 4th time, I saw this video to right below. Long story short, I'll be returning the US AutoNation covers I got as soon as they get here and purchasing from you guys. Thank you for taking the time out to do this video and show a comparison. I installed one from auto nation 4 months ago on a gx470 and it didn't come with self tap screws and all the fasteners where hard plastic, it actually fit very nicely so mabe they improved. As for how long it will stay nice only time will tell, so to me it boils down price with these covers, I am looking forward to trying the others no doubt.

This further affirms that I believe I made the right choice when going with The Seat Shop. I have used your videos to disassemble and work on my seats long before I even considered recovering them. Your attention to detail is superb. I recently ordered a complete front row for my Suburban and did an ALL LEATHER upgrade as well as redoing the seat heaters and foam. Yes, you were more expensive than Richmond (barely....and I mean “barely), but by the time you applied the discount for purchasing the entire row, it was actually a little cheaper Not only did the cost make it a no brained, but I am even more confident now after seeing this video as to what the other guys are doing. Phew!

SO BEAUTIFUL I WANT TO CRY

Ordered Seat covers bottom and back for my 2006 GMC from TheSeatShop. Great fit looks awesome. Only issue I had Was one of the smaller Clips for the rear of the bottom cover was not sewn Correctly and came right off while installing it. No big deal punched a hole and used a Zip tie to hold it in place. I recommend just checking the stitching on the new Covers before pulling the old seat out. Like I said Great Product just, check everything before install.

Bottom line : if you need show truck quality use the seat shop $199 cover but if you just want to fix the seat for day to day use. I think the cheaper $108 cover will meet your needs. Long story: I reviewed this video and decided to pay $108 for the cheaper one to see if it’s accurate. I figure at about 1/2 the price it’s worth the try. It’s true the carpet piece in the back and clips did not match factory but seem to work and I don’t think it matters since you cannot see either and they seem to work fine. The leather was also glued to the backing which may cause bunching . Lastly, the cheaper seat guys directions did send me to the seat shop installation video vice having their own video. My final impression is the leather color was close enough on the cheap one that it looked to match to me. The final install looks as good as I expected and makes me happy I went with the cheaper one since my yukon is a 2001 (17 years old) it’s not really worth $200 for theirs when the truck is only worth about $5k today. I just didn’t want the seat cushion to start tearing out due to the rip in the old seat cover. So far so good if it doesn’t last more than 5-7 years I will post another review then. I hope this helps and good luck. Btw install took about 1.5 hours and I only removed the cushion instead of the hole seat.

Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out and we appreciate the honesty, we know we are not for everyone since every individual has different needs. The main reason our prices are the way they are is that we source the actual material the factory uses and we make the correct clips that attach your covers the way they were engineered to, which does add to the cost. Yes, it is true you don't see the actual clips once installed but that is not the concern what actually matters is if they hold on correctly. As for the carpeting vs vinyl, the main reason we do not add vinyl to those sections is that it is an area that will be stretched frequently and vinyl rips easily. Cheaper products can be a solution, but that is just what you are going to get, we just want to be an actual solution which is to give you peace of mind you are getting something made correctly.

I have a similar feeling. I love the quality The Seat Shop is providing however some of those prices out there are just so hard to pass up and they also have 100% customer satisfaction. After buying the foam, other parts, top parts, and various things to fix other things on the car. Every dollar starts to count. Saving $75 allows one to buy more things so I myself am giving it a try on another company. But i love these videos by the seat shop. If i owned a shop id possibly just recommend them but this of for my 13 year old Escalate thats worn down overall so im gonna try to save a little bit of money. Now if i get burned by this other seat i ordered from NationalUSA or something like that. Ill return it and order Seat Shop and have learned my lesson.

The best reply to this video to date. I'm in the same boat with a 2001 GMC Sierra. Rust on the body, 365,000 KMS, and a worn out driver's seat (foam too) that's killing me to sit in it. I want a new truck but not financially possible ATM. The difference for me in the seat shop vs the other guys is $139.. that's a lot of money especially since I'm Canadian. Do the conversion. If you say the cheaper one gets the job done then I'll go with it. The seat shop makes great products but it's expensive for an old truck.

We completely understand where you're coming from and wish we could help you out! We may consider looking into the 06 Sequoia in the future but not right now due to us focusing on other projects. Yes, always be mindful of some cheaper priced covers on eBay, most of the time, it's poor or adequate (at best), quality. If you have any additional questions, let us know.

Just received bottom part of seat cushion and leather for my 2006 Dodge Laramie materials and workmanship is 100% and fast shipping . I Absolutely recommend this company.

Do you make seat covers for foreign vehicles?

Quality cushion, perfect fit, lasted barely 2 months before cracking and wearing, the did send a replacement right away for free but I have wore that one out as well. (2 since Jan 2020)

@@tomm519 so most likely for that year range you are going to need the 40/20/40 seat configuration since the 60/40 was usually for 1999 and earlier. But since it's a 2 piece bench we just want to confirm we are getting you the right information. Is there any way you can get us a picture of the VIN# and a picture of the seats and send them to sales@theseatshop.com this way we can confirm everything.

Dude! I purchased a cover off Ebay THEN i found this video for a 03-06 Chev Truck Same cheap trimming channel, like a weatherstrip. Some of them were sewn on not good at all. 108-120 I think they are down to now. Color is way off, its 5 shades darker than every seat on the car. I see you also sell on ebay ill buy one of yours next time ebay throws out one of those 15-20% off coupons sales. Thanks for the comparsion Glad you make your own OEM clip

I got the US AUTO NATION covers for my 07 Ram just a few days ago and spent about 5 hours today fighting them.. The fabric and pattern is spot on but that is where it ends for fitment. The skirts are several inches too long and the frame clips are sewn on backwards. The rear clips aren't even the correct type to clip on the seat frame. Waiting on a response from them.. stay tuned.

Went to your site nothing listed for any Mercedes Models accept for Sprinter. The Seat Shop does not carry any leather seat covers drivers side or passengers side for a Mercedes 2013 ML350.

"I can't dog this cover for anything except (almost everything about it is wrong) ..." I have an '02 Avalanche that could use a fresh driver's seat soon, don't worry, I'll spend the extra $60 to get it right.

Need a seat bottom for a 2006 Jeep Liberty. After watching your video, thought that I would buy from SeatShop - only to find out that those are not something that you no longer stock. Guess I am headed elsewhere. Great video, though.

A little disappointed in my Seat Shop order, it was not as advertised on this video. I cancelled my order from Richmond to buy from the Seat Shop based on this video. I was expecting my seat cover to have the double sided clips as advertised in this video, making it easier to use a putty knife or a wide screw driver to push down and secure the clip......nope, mine did not have them, it had the same clips as shown in the Richmond cover. Nothing in the box other than the packing slip and cover, no business card, no flyer about the seat shop, no instructions at all like the Richmond order in the video. Very happy that they are made in the USA and Texas at that. God Bless Texas!!!! WIll get some wear on the seat, and reply later with how they have been holding up.

I have an 07 Avalanche LTZ that I have almost fully restored. The black leather interior is in immaculate condition with the exception of the driver’s bottom seat being slightly worn from exiting. I will definitely buy from you guys because of this video. However, is it possible to get an all leather seat bottom instead of vinyl sides? Secondly, I know you say OEM but, shouldn’t you already have all holes cut out for install? I don’t feel that I should be cutting into any part of the new material to install the seat controls. Just a thought.

We will have the All Leather upgrades available online if you want to check them out here - www.theseatshop.com/2007-chevrolet-avalanche-ltz/ - As for the control panel holes, we used to pre-cut when we first started but realized fairly quickly that this caused a lot of unforeseen problems. One of the main reasons is that the foam density will be different for each vehicle depending on how much wear and tear it has gone through. Depending on how low your foam is sitting the control panel area move as well since it has adjusted to the original cover. Another reason is that the same cover will work for various control panel options, for example, the difference between the manual and full electric seat will only be the area that gets cut out and if you want a cover fairly quickly this would make our production time a lot longer.

Hi and thanks for reaching out, we love Katzkin covers but they will be a different animal. They will only be able to do custom color interiors... Where we, on the other hand, will only manufacture OEM factory-matched options. So instead of redoing your entire interior (if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality), you can just replace the sections you need, knowing they will correctly match. Also with Katzkin, they do not deal with a customer directly you are most likely dealing with a dealer that does the install for you. It really depends on what you want to do, if you are going full custom, Katzkin is definitely a great option but so is Roadwire and Alea Leather... We are in a unique spot where really our only competitor is the original dealer and... we both source our materials from the same tanneries the only differences will be their prices, they are usually 3 - 5X our prices.

I went with Richmond Auto at first. Big mistake. I asked them for installation videos…. No answer. My order was supposed to arrive and I had not heard anything so I reached out. I received an email apologizing that there would be a further delay at the 11th hour. Great. They would however “upgrade” me to their 1/2 inch foam for no additional charge? Upset with the lack of communication I emailed to cancel my order, and without hesitation and no further apologies they did. Should have went with my gut and the fine folks at Seat shop that put these videos out here first. I spent $133 more but I believe it’s worth it customer service wise as well as the quality of an OEM REPLACEMENT. And they’re little passive aggressive comment on this video is pathetic.

How can I order some seat covers

2nd part of the video made me a little ill with skipping frames and camera shots... still wish you guys made some stuff for the land cruiser series, those cars arent going anywhere anytime soon and all of them need new front seats.

Well bummer that I came across this video at a time when a US Auto Nation seatcover is in the mail and on its way to me. The ebay search at the beginning of this video was exactly me a couple of days ago. Their ad seems to scream that they are "High Quality" and that "Our product is exactly the same as your existing original cover." I will have to think about your description of the non laminated vinyl. You make it sound like it is going to have the lifespan of a joint in Willie Nelson's backpack.

Ok I am going to have to update my above comment. After watching this video I was thinking that very possibly I might be sending the seat back to US Auto Nation. I was expecting to open the box and be dissapointed with the crummy bendable fasteners (as described in this video) and also the non laminated vinyl that I envisioned was going to give me a feeling that it could easily be torn and not last long. Well!! I actually did find it to be a high quality seat cover. The fasteners were hard plastic like they are supposed to be and the vinyl had a layer of thin foam sewn into it giving it a think and durable feeling. The color matching to my original tan seats was as close to perfect as I could reasonably ask for. After watching this video I was kicking my self for buying a cheap seat cover but now I am not doing that and instead I am glad that I did and giving the company 5 stars... based on my one purchase. ... ...

Looks like nice covers but your vehicle selection is extremely limited. You don't have covers for any vehicle I've ever owned.

Please make a durafoam cushion for the passenger side! All these vehicles are getting old and some nice upgraded foam on the passenger side is a no brainer!

Hi Michael, thanks for the feedback! The reason why we mainly focus on the driver side and not the passenger is due to the high cost to make the mold itself and manufacture each foam. We do plan on looking into a passenger foam for a specific year range in the future though.

Hi Bob and a very good question, the reason they do not come pre-cut is that your original foam cushion that fills in your seat covers morph over time of the constant wear and tear. Since not everyone wants to purchase a brand new foam cushion as well as small differences during installation we decided to not pre-cut the holes.

Would love to buy yours but for some reason you don't offer the color of my seats???? 02 Yukon XL Denali two tone Gray...you only have shale or something. Not the 922 color.

why does it show on your website that my seats are two tone? mine are not two tone. 2004 gmc yukon denali

Nick. I know this might sound crazy. But the 2003-2006 Denali only came in a two tone cover. What happens is the grey fades so badly it appears to be a single tone. Check the 2nd and 3rd row very closely and you can see a slight change in color from the inside to the outside of the leather. Thanks!

Well man sounds like you have an aftermarket kit in there. You are welcome to check with GM on this. They only produced a two tone tan and a two tone grey for the Denali. We don't want to come across as jerks but have had this question 100 times.

Hi Jerry, We no longer manufacture the King Ranch covers because the material is more difficult to get ahold of. We guarantee that all of our covers will match the factory OEM down to the pattern, stitching, color and be the highest quality. If we're unable to gather the necessary materials to do that, we won't cut corners and release something we're not proud of.

@@jerrybass6784 Yes they do manufacture the King Ranch covers but it's more of a custom cover, which is what we used to do. We are both no longer able to get ahold of the original material because the material tends to fade. It was not profitable for us which is why we discontinued manufacturing those covers. We apologize for the inconvenience and wish you the best of luck.

Comparing prices. I'll pay the extra $20 for a product from the seat shop.

Great but you guys dont have 1996 Ford Bronco, f150, f250 etc. there are millions of these out there but you guys don't make them.

Seat Shop, I'd understand if this video was made by kinda independent reviewer. You are however competitor to the others you mention and I do not value your review as useful. It is just funny and childish to offend other competitors in public - you can get the same in reverse. I see Richmond answer and their statement is more balanced and not attacking you, they have class! I'd have doubts to order products from the company like yours - attacking in public other competitors, this is not the right way to do the business. And you do not offer Toyota seats covers, by the way....

I'm not sure what pricing you got but straight off your website (seat shop) I got $324 for my GMC Sierra. On the website usautoseatcover.com I have an estimate for $185. That's big money and a huge difference to some of us. My old truck isn't worth much and being Canadian kills this deal even more for me at well over $400+ to replace my seat bottom from you guys. Sure if I had a vehicle worth more I would probably use your products but the prices aren't $5 - $20 less/more. It's hundreds.

We appreciate the comment and we know we cannot be everyone's solution, we just want to make sure we are making our covers the right way which governs our prices since the right material has a cost. If pricing is your only concern give them a try but just keep in mind a cheaper price means lower quality materials like it shows in this video.

@@TheSeatShop I'm looking for the correct seat cushion replacement for my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT power seat on the driver's side. Do you folks sell these? The one I purchase online from SevenBlacksmiths.com is not the correct replacement. My factory original cushion does not have the velcro attachment underneath but a bar with clips that attach the seat cover to the cushion. Any help or suggestions is much appreciated. My original cushion is worn out on the outer side edge due to sliding in and out of the truck.

I dislike the fact you actually disclosed the names of the companies, a little unprofessional/petty.

All his points are fine but a really poor presentation. Get a professional for something like this.

Customer service is becoming a thing of the past, particularly from the foreign folks. I'll forgo any names.
