Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest & Elegant Weapons joins us this week in the Marshall factory to run through the new Studio JTM. Boosting his sound with a Shredmaster and bringing some seriously heavy riffs, Richie explains his approach to finding the perfect tone on an amp like the Studio JTM.
We also showed Richie around the Marshall factory, walking him through the Marshall museum, showing him the production process and everything that goes into making our legendary amps.

Richie made Judas Priest cool again. Only thing I found was it felt slightly awkward as Richie doesn't use Marshall. The Jvm was properly the best amp they have made to date.

He doesnt use then live. But studio he uses jmps, plexis and jcms. He has a wall of marshalls in his home

Look at the new live clips of him with Elegant Weapons. He has Wizard amps on stage and his JCM 800’s are on the side of the stage.

Marshall.... Why don't you make an oversized 1x12 extension cab to fit under the DSL 40cr?

Not getting the amp but I am getting that 2 by 12 JTM cab with the 2 Creamback M 65s . Those are my favorite speakers. I have one in my DSl 40CR and a 1 by 12 orange with an M65 but I want them in a 2 by 12 closed back cab plus all of my 2 by 12s are straight cabs or bottom cabs so I need an upright Slant cab for the collection. I also Love combining the Creamback M with a vintage 30 and I have a Marshall silver jubilee B cab with the Marshall spec vintage 30s or G12 vintage and I will use that cab combined with the JTM 45 2 by 12 slant cab in the mini stack format . Those 2 Marshall G12 vintage speakers and the 2 Creamback M speakers will sound glorious together . I also have a DSl 40CR with the vintage grill cloth and mid 60s style name plate which is going to look amazing with the JTM slant cab sitting on top. I will have to remove the handle from the DSl but thst is no bother.

Oh yeah, my DSL401 got a Creamback. I will no longer be selling it. After 15 years, finally it sounds wonderful. I was never really happy with it.

BTW Marshall 212 Origin cab, has the upper half slanted and a Vintage look and at 350 bucks it's a lot cheaper than the SV20H Plexi cab. It comes with 70/80 speakers but you can sell those. I will get one for an SV20h, one Creamback one Greenback. Just need to find a grand somewhere...

The Shredmaster is the sound he's getting. He could play that thru a Fender or Vox and prolly sound the same ...... Just sayin

Marshall needs a reality check......Richie is an amazing player and Judas Priest still churns out great songs but; Marshall is falling behind. These reissues of old amp designs are a waste of time. Bring out new Modern Amps (HIGH and LOW(ER?)gain) with power reduction, Built in IR's (or a similar option this is a duh moment), external bias ports (and adjustments), maybe built in boosts?? I dont know MODERNIZE before everyone thinks the crappy sounds from their digital modeler is what a Marshall is.....

Every professional studio and every professional musician records with a marshall, even a smalk part. Its like stratocasters, p basses and les pauls. They are classic for a reason

Ive never like the sound of a marshall with the tone controls cranked all the way although eddie could pull it off
