I would like to know if the Diploma of Counselling with AIPC gives you credit in the Bachelor of Counselling.Iam extremely interested in starting a journey towards a certified Counselling qualification.During my recent research with different course providers I have noticed that some offer direct entry into the 2nd year of a Bachelor of Counselling or even into Bachelors of Social Science and psychology in some instances ,on completion of your diploma.

@@alexiskate2237 after doing this course and not finding a job, I would do a Bachelor of psychology course. The diploma of Counseling is not recognised and employers want a psychology degree. My experience is not to waste your money on the diploma of Counseling as it's been superseded.

@@adamwatts7968 thankyou so much for the response Adam! And sorry for the late reply! I got scared of doing the psychology degree as everywhere online says that you have to really make sure it’s something you want to do as it is a useless degree if you don’t decide to go further into it. I’m only 18 and have plenty of time, I know this is the field I want to go into so I think I have to just dive in and do it! Would doing the psychology degree then going into a counselling graduate diploma be more suited?

@@alexiskate2237 Hi Alexis, my advice to you would be start you psychology degree now and don't waste your time and money on the Diploma of Counselling. It's not really recognised anymore and as I stated they either want a psychology degree or Bachelor of Social Work. I wished I did the straight degree in either of those as it would have saved me a lot of wasted money and time. AIPC says that it will get a job but that is not the case. These registered training organisation like AIPC just want to sell courses, they have no idea on what employers want. I learnt the hardest, so happy to pass on the experience I have. Best of luck. Adam
