I personally like to think he has nine lives like a cat, but he has pretty high damage resistance as well. Also if he does have nine lives, he's already used two of them thanks to the Vampire dragster and Rimac Concept One crashes

Should've finished with 'I crashed my first car, my second car, my mum's car, the radio car, the radio van ' that clip.

I was going to say he missed his calling as a stunt driver, but that requires coordinated crashing on purpose, not on accident.

The Rimac "IVE CRASHED" bit always cracks me up because of how hard Jeremy an James were hyping him up. And the "we had to get that clip from a fans cell phone BECAUSE we didn't have any cameras down there an 1/8 mile past the finish line." lol

That one was actually disturbing to watch cuz that was a high speed crash with him in legit danger more then any others he's been in and I think it was the only one he got injured in glad the hamster was ok after that besides suffering a broken leg he escaped unscathed

Impressive that he’s crashed every single different type of vehicle. If it has an engine, or just wheels, Richard Hammond has crashed it at some point. He is inevitable

On a serious note, apparently he could be easily distracted by minor things while driving, like talking to the camera while looking at it at the wrong time. But how come somebody like this could have a helicopter license is unbelievable

Most of it is scripted or in difficult situations, everyone spins cars out on a track occasionally, May and Clarkson have crashed plenty of times.

Old Top Gear: Just a helmet. Newer Top Gear/Grand Tour: Neck braces, safety goggles, full harness, roll cage. Hammond was simply progressing the show's safety standards by himself.

My favorite moment came before Hammond crashed the HeliCar. He said he was going to take it for a drive. Jeremy said, "You?!" Then he turned to the crew and told them to run. They ran. They even got a shot of local sheep looking terrified.

It’s so funny when you watch the crashes out of the episode / out of context, it makes it much funnier and trying to remember the old episodes great video 👍

Richard Hammond is my absolutely favorite one out of these three. I'd have to admit he reminds me so much of my dad, minus the accidents of course. 😂

Despite all of his crashing, I can only think of 2 that weren't on purpose.

I love how they’re so casual about Hammond crashing it’s like the rimmac where there fire and blood everywhere, paramedics cutting his trousers off and yet James and Jeremy were more annoyed over the fact that the only clip they had of the crash was from KZread 😂

What we have here is a modern remake of the Three Stooges. Jeremy Clarkson's mean attitude makes him "Moe". James May's wild hair makes him "Larry". Richard Hammond's constant accidents, staged or otherwise, make him a dead ringer for "Curly". And this, my friends, is the underlying explanation for their phenomenal success.

He's got the same last name and looks sort of similar to Mark Hammond from The Getaway on PS2. And they're both good at driving fast! (And crashing!)

We all know that Hammond was the "Princess Diana of Top Gear". I now know the YT algorithm has a sense of humour. Since watching this video, my top recommendation is a video about Diana's crash.

The man has crashed on foot, car, threewheeler, pro-racing, excavator, bicycle, motorcycle, lorry and boat. And TFW you learn the fellow has a helicopter license as well.

The fact that this is 6 minutes shows how clumsy Hammond was
