More than just "wasn't devastated". Novgorod is the very first Russian state which united most Russian states and formed Kievan Rus' by the Rurik dynasty.

Please don't ever remove those little History facts (usually at the begining but sometimes elsewhere in the video), I love them.

I was unaware, but I'm also so glad that "show strength" satisfies the age objective now.

I've tried Novgorod as well - somewhat done a similar start as you - and must admit that it is a very interesting play. I didn't get any of their units to get schtakkenwiped though, but it is what it is. Keep up the good work!

One small correction: When you form Russia as Novgorod you get a slightly different version of the Russian mission tree. The most important difference is that you don't get the mission to form the Slavic culture group, so you're locked out of uniting the Slavs if you form Russia as Novgorod.

I disagree with that. The main difference is that the Novogrod Russia gets another 10% ccr for having Sweden. Although it may seem overkill to stack even more ccr, since regular Russia easily gets the maximum cost reduction, more ccr further reduces the coring time, making it easier to deal with a large overextension in the late game if you are aiming for a world conquest. Since there are not many other republics that are well suited for a world conquest, this makes Novgorod a very unique and worthwhile experience.

Ludi, you should play in India more often.

Btw, why always the free company instead of getting of real mercenary company with a leader? It's like 1 ducet more a month, and almost-guaranteed siege pip(s). Seems like a no brainer.

Novgorod is the best nation to form Russia IMO. I recommend innovative, offensive, plutocratic, espionage, trade, quantity, infrastructure, maybe even mercenary, admin, or even quality. My favorite thing is the Russian middle class and abolishing serfdom.

Honestly, they would probably never be interested in Siberia, instead focusing on Baltic Sea and be focused on expanding west. Saying that is a bit stupid, because history would be unrecognisable if Novgorod did unify Russia Remember, the Novgorod Republic wasn't some good guy club
