Fun part of Ottoman-Pope alliance, that I discovered from my recent runs. There is an event, in first 20-30 years of the game I assume, where Pope propose to convert Ottoman leader to Christianity and pop up some catholic zealots. So there is legal way to switch ottomans to catholic at the start of the game and become HRE emperor without any cheesy moves.

Sadly, this event only converts your ruler, not the country. And as far as I know, the only event that converts the nation to the rulers faith is disabled you you're using one of the dlc, so without dlc shenanigans, to become emperor of the HRE, you still have to do rebel strats. If you know otherwise, I would love to hear how.

it's a historic theory/conspiracy kind of thing. it is believed by some that Pope sent a letter to Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmet II the Conqueror) asking him to convert. Some say that the letter didn't make it to Konstantiniye. He is also believed to be liberal on matters of religion by some historians. His death was also pretty suspicious, he was hated by his not-favourite son. He also intended to march on Rome, as after his conquest of Constatinople he claimed the title Kayzer-i Rum (Caesar of Rome) and went onto conquer Otronto a fort on the tip of Italy. It was his childhood dream to become Roman Emperor, he was the first Sultan to have his portrait made (which is considered haram in islam), he had renovated the church of 12 apostles and renamed to Fatih (Conqueror) Mosque where the body of first christian roman emperor Constantin the Great was and was even buried ontop of him in accordance with his will (Which is pretty significant in Turkish Culture, mostly people's wives, husbands or children are buried ontop of each other).

Sad thing about Ottomans is that I feel like their way to play is pretty cemented. U just gotta conquer everything around u, there is no bigger nation u can form and once u are at a certain size it is kinda over because u are just running down everyone else. Idk about anyone else but the decadence mechanic also never really mattered to me

Decadence was great because of how inevitable it is. There is barely any ways to reduce it. But I guess pdx overdone it's inevitableness people are going full on accelerationist on decadence. I ince got ottoman decadence disaster IN 1560. Sure it sets me back for 40 years, struggling to get it off. But as soon as I do so. I just get ottoman empire with western tech and units. An unstoppable force by then.

Epyrus matters. Playing some of the lesser nations is always fun and IMHO more interesting that the obviously overpowered big boys. Would love to see Saxony (become Polish king, rule or dismantle HRE and get a monopoly on porcelain?) or Takeda (unify Japan, as much cavalry as possible?) Edit: Bell-end refers to the head of your most precious organ. More modern would be d**khead. Edit: Your mention of Japanese covers of "I need a hero" reminded me of "My boss, my hero". Try to watch it if you haven't.

Please do a second part where you address the Decadence system. The one time I played the Ottos after the Domination DLC, the late-game disasters made me rage-quit more than a dozen times. The amount of rebels in those three events is unfathomable, it‘s like it‘s a bug.

The event to just take Konstantinople and get the rest of Byzantium as a vassal is quite beneficial: 0 AE (due to event -> more conquests without coalition) AND more importantly: you get to keep the 2nd. level of hagia sophia (worth 2500 gold) - would get reduced to lvl 1 otherwise. Also there is no need to wait for other castles to fall, saving a few months of time. Only downside: white peace with Athens. Bonus: Diplo-Vassalize Dulkadir for the first lvl of the hospital (worth 1000gold).

Had a livonian order > livonia playthrough a while ago and ottomans for some reason had 150k troops + egypt in 1490😭

If he makes a video, and no one enjoys or likes the video, but he spends all the time needed to record, edit, and post part 2 and 3 to not get any views (which hurts his youtube algorithm in the process) then he hurts his channel, where as if he asks for likes and comments telling him what ideas to do or to continue with a idea/video, it tells hum what videos to make for our enjoyment and helps him.

They need to make the ottomans inner strife a tad more effective. It almost does nothing. I usually go the Prussia to Germany route, which can go head to head with the ottomans

I bought eu4 2 years ago with most of the dlcs (first game in that area). Played 12 hours and was too overwhelmed and went to ck3. Recently I wanted to return to eu4 and now there are all the eu5 talks.. should I even try to start or wait for eu5?

Do not ally with France in the beginning. He invites you to his war with England!. Ally with bohemia instead. Dulkadir and Fezzan will easily become vassals in starts. Lastly, if you increase your relationship with Crimea to 150 (alliance) and the favor is 60, you complete a mission. This mission ensures that Crimea will come to you as a vassal.(when the events come) Note: Don't forget to convert vassals into eyalets

For your own safety, don't play with children's of Pyrrhus without helmet!
