They do this every time. They draft well, develop those great players and screw up when it comes time to pay them. They wait and wait, until it starts costing them more and more. This is what happens when your Owner is also your GM. OL' Jerry runs his club like its the 1980's. In the modern day NFL, you need to be salary cap Guru, and Jerry is not that. "ALL IN"? ok Jerry, that means restructuring contracts to free up capitol, then signing your star players to long term contracts. Then attract and sign top level free agents to fill your team. The cowboys say they like to draft and grow talent from within. that's just an excuse, because they don't have any salary cap room to sign anybody. They will never win the SB with Jerry at the helm.

A Professional GM understands that this is not how to run a team, but.... As a practical matter, it's near impossible to run an organization with a "Dead Man Coaching" standing there at the podium.... And by the way, Dan Campbell left last year, and took some assistant coaches with him..... So Mike needs what, NFC Championship Appearance, at least, to get a new contract???? Seems unlikely....

"Who did he replace again??? Oh yeah, that was Jason Garrett.... Yeah, yeah... And was he fired? No, no he wasn't... He coached until the clock ran out on his contract....." So you're just gonna ignore the fact that Garrett got multiple contracts? Like when he signed a new 5 year deal in 2015, coming off of a 12-4 season that finished with a 1-1 playoff run, after he had been the HC since mid-season 2010. But, hey, itchy trigger finger Jerry is just so DESPERATE to fire HCs, amirite? The media told me that McCarthy "iZ On DuH hoT SeAT" so it must be true! BTW, Dan Quinn left last year, and of course he took assistant coaches last year - why the hell would the new Defensive Coordinator want the old DC's staff?! Of course they locked up Al Harris though, he has a lot of potential.

Parsons will get his new contract 1st. Jerry is gonna see how the team does before he recommits to Dak. If they don't get to the NFC championship game Dak is gone. That frees up money for Lamb. If the team doesn't get past the divisional round, Jerry is gonna sign a cheap bridge QB. That puts the Cowboys in position to draft Manning

Why is it ALWAYS the NFL players that "bitch" and "holdout" on contracts? I get the "no guaranteed contracts" thing from the league, but most of these guys now adays get in their contract "GUARANTEED $$$$$". Even $5million guaranteed $, on top of your regular salary isn't enough??!?! Why is it when owners refuse to bow to an employee's demands, it's called "collusion", but when multiple players violate their contractual agreements and refuse to play or show up for work, because another player gets paid more $, we just chalk it up as "another player looking to get paid". Sounds like "player collusion". I might have to look into this a bit more.... My point is, 90% of players on an NFL roster are replaceable with the the 1500+ kids coming out of college every year. I like Lamb, but he isn't getting paid. I'd let him walk and let another team ruin their salary cap with him. I'd just draft the next 6'2" 200lb black guy with dreads. WR is a product of the system. WR in college didn't get to be WR in college because they CAN'T catch. They can ALL catch. Just make sure you have a QB that can throw the ball accurately and you will win games. The NFL is such a cluster over the last 10+ years catering to the players (employees) vs owners. It's sad. It's a business run by the employees. Time for the owners to step up....
