    Both PG and Kawhi are always in street clothes when it matters. These dudes have knees made of glass so why would anyone go pay him what he wants? You really gonna pay all that money to watch those 2 sit on the bench?? It's going to be the same thing in Philly... I expect PG and Embiid to be on the bench while Maxie carries the team. Glass knees.

    @JCPRuckus The Celtics are miles better than them, the Knicks, who were down 4 players in the series are miles better than them because they got better. They're going to have to beat one of those teams to make it pass the second round. And I'm not sure that this Sixers team is capable of beating the Cavs, Magic, Bucks or Pacers in the FIRST round. Seriously, why is it "drugs" to assume a team that has never made it pass the second round magically becomes much better by adding a 34 year old player who's been past the second round once in his career and was just a major disappointment in a first round exit?

  • @JCPRuckus

    @JCPRuckus

    12 күн бұрын

    @@alexgruel9932 - Because it's casual narrative based analysis. If you've actually been watching the Sixers during Embiid's career, then you know that the fit on the top end team building has been atrocious. He's literally never had both a 2nd and 3rd best player who was a willing catch-and-shoot player, when literally the whole point of a big centered offense is creating open catch-and-shoot 3s for the other guys. The basketball fit is immaculate with this big 3. Everyone has a different job on the court, and their games compliment each other all at the same time and/or in any possible pairing. And they also have 2 more athletic starting wings that can shoot and effectively play defense against wing-heavy teams. This is easily the best built starting 5 of Embiid's career, and the new CBA is leaving a lot of mid-tier guys unable to find a home, meaning multiple guys we sign for minimums to fill out the roster are likely to be able to outperform those contracts. You're vastly underrating the Sixers, because you're caught in the "everybody is a choker until they win a championship" narrative, instead of understanding that no individual talent has ever outperformed an underperforming front office. And Daryl Morey has (despite my fears to the contrary) knocked it out of the park this off-season.

  • @alexgruel9932

    @alexgruel9932

    12 күн бұрын

    @JCPRuckus I'm not calling them chokers. I'm saying they're a badly constructed team. Leaving aside the fact that the team is not built to compete with either the Celtics (Embids best skill on defense is rim protection and ain't nobody on the Celtics going anywhere near the rim meaning he's either going to be standing there defending nobody or being wasted standing next to Kris for the entire series) or the Knicks. I'm also not calling them chokers. This entire ceiling and entire analysis is based around something that has literally never happened. A fully healthy Embid. The man couldn't take the punishment of a single, 7 game series against the depleted Knicks. Suddenly he's going to be able to stand up to 3 rounds of that? Nope. Finally, I'm sorry but a declining, injury riddled 34 year old player is not the magic bullet. This is Garnet and Pierce to the Nets, not Allen and Garnett to the Celtics.

  • @JCPRuckus

    @JCPRuckus

    12 күн бұрын

    @@alexgruel9932 - Saying this is a "badly constructed team" sounds even more drug-addled than your original statement. Again, from a fit standpoint this starting 5 is about perfect. The only real weakness is that Maxey isn't big enough to do much defensively on a switch. But you've got 3 guys who are. So it'll be alright... As for specific matchups, they have to match up with us too. Neither of those teams can stop Joel one-on-one, and if they double, for the first time ever, he's got 4 guys who can both catch-and-shoot or attack a closeout. And, yes, "They've never done it before", is a choking argument. Or at least a "Nobody is good enough to do it until they do it", argument, which is basically the same thing just a little more polite. The majority of your argument is just that because Embiid hasn't gotten out of the 2nd yet that he can't. But that ignores the fact that he's never had a team of guys who all made sense around him, and now he finally does. And PG, 34 or not, was statistically a top 20 player last season. All he has to do is be better than Tobias Harris, and he's literally several times the player Tobi is. Again, the fit is immaculate, and each of these top 3 guys makes life easier for the other 2 just by playing their natural game. So everyone should have less wear and tear over the season and be the healthiest they've ever been. Again, you're looking at a narrative that PG being 34 means he's going to fall off, instead of the reality that he just had one of the best seasons of his career and has 2 other starting wings who are good enough that he doesn't have to guard the other team's best perimeter player all game, or even every night. Again, your whole argument is based on national media narratives. Because just like the national media, you can't be an expert on all 30 teams. So you don't actually know all of the details of why things haven't worked in the past, and can't see why this lineup is materially different from every other team that has ever been put around Embiid.

  • @liferealgood
    @liferealgood7 күн бұрын

    I don’t see Embiid ever making it to postseason 100%. If he does then I’m definitely wrong but he has proven history. Plus he was unstoppable against the Knicks but so was Brunson. Knicks add Bridges and Randle to their playoff lineup if all goes well.

    Fans commenting about the Clippers being in a tough spot because of the CBA are misinformed. The last Clippers offer was 3 years 150 "That still puts them over the second apron". The same thing would have occured if hey added a 4th year. PG stood on business and didn't want to end up like Blake Griffin. The Clippers signed him to a 5 year extension and traded him to Detroit. I don't blame PG for asking for a no trade clause.

    Yeah you are right, they did not mind being over the second apron if it meant keeping that team together on the same timeline and the flexibility if they decided to tear it all apart later down the line. The issue that I have with PG’s decision was that he demanded a condition in his contract (no trade clause) that they did not even offer to their best player. He was not taking accountability of his own shortcomings and was no desperate to win with that group and was only thinking money. He ran away from the smoke!

    @@mariahcathey8153 first, I don't know why you guys on the internet love repeating what you hear others say. Secondly Kawhi has done absolutely nothing in a Clippers uniform the past "5" years. The gap between Kawhi and PG is extremely small and unnoticeable. I tell you what, there's only one of them that I'd rather have taking the game winning shot at the end of the game. It's not who you think it is, in a Clipper uniform only one of them have been clutch in that situation while the other has been dreadful. I'll leave that up to you to look up. I think there's a lot of common sense you're neglecting to apply. If you're looking to win a championship, your not winning one with Kawhi, "he cannot play a full season" he's shown you that over the past "4" years. Who the hell turns down 62 additional million to stay in a "smokey" situation where you have absolutely "no chance" of coming out of the west and making it to the finals? Do you know how stupid that sounds? It's not about street cred and staying in the "smoke"; it's about being practical and doing what makes the best financial sense in addition to what puts you in the best position to win a Chip. Do you know who Kevin Garnet is? Have you listened to him when he advised players do not stay in losing situations? KG definitely a ducking no smoke...again, you can be smart or stupid, no one cares about street cred, people care about doing what makes sense. Since you went there, you know the last NBA player who was a hypocrite DAME LILLARD trying to call someone out for running? This same Dame Lillard asked to be traded from a non winning situation. He changed his mind, went back to management, and management said F no, you asked for a trade, we moving you. Bruh, do be a sheep, be practical, and get your facts strait. Sixers are going win the east all Paul George has to do is be better than tobias harris in the playoffs they have fixed there bench in free agency Embiid Has best plus minus in the Nba most of there problems happened when he went to the bench because nobody else could score

    Clippers are the sixers of the west! 😂 harden wanted max money last year, sixers decline so clippers give him max money. Now vice versa with paul george 😅 clippers dont pay max and sixers gladly do lol

    PG has done more for the Clippers then Kawhi. They should have let Kawhi walk. PG is the 1st max contract guy to leave in free agency since those 2 in 2019. These guys keeps going on about PG paying him but they are paying Kawhi though lol. They swapped Harris for PG I mean come on

    PG is so overrated like Lillard. They proved they cannot nake a difference on a good tram. He is too old at the end of the day. Long term they made a good choice. Nit to mention he is always hurt….
