It’s heartbreaking for any family member to have the conflict internally of the person they loved and then to find out parts of the person you knew was a lie or hidden and covered up, leaves such confusion internally at times. This whole experience has clearly impacted his life and it makes you wonder what sort of childhood both ted and his brother actually had and if it is only his experience with his brothers horrific legacy that has impacted his life or if there family life was not as wholesome as ted bundy tried to present.

I am happy you have included this video. It seems appropriate to end the inhumanity experience Carol and others went through in a conciliatory manner. Nobody except God knows why Ted Is what he did. Judge Cowart I feel made a conciliatory statement towards Ted. If he made a statement of outrage, he ran the risk of the conclusion of an awful trial descending into ugly chaos filled with belligerence and disrespect. As a leader, the trial proceedings were Judge Cowarts responsibility. Whether we like Judge Cowarts comments or not, the final comments seems the lesser of two evils from a 3rd person perspective. An attempt to pacify potential outrage had to be made in an awful trial and repulsive defendant. My biggest thing to be happy about is that Carol and other survivors moved on to have very successful lives after being attacked. I am also happy the high road was taken by including this video of Richard Bundy. No grudge should be held against the family because of the awful, inhuman actions of Ted; Louise's son and Rich's brother.

The siblings of a serial killer never get much attention. This was the first interview I’ve seen with Ted Bundy’s brother and you can see how much he looked up to his big brother. It must be very difficult for those who are related to the killer to live a somewhat normal life after the truth comes out. Hopefully he gets the help he needs and it’s unfair how the sibling’s reputation is tarnished for the rest of his life.

That "look" the brother describes is the typical 'look of contempt' of a narcissistic psychopath/sociopath - could write an entire chapter about that look alone. That homicidal maniac didn't care about his brother for his brother's sake, they just don't do that. It's likely the brother just saw him in a moment of thought about either a past victim or a future one, or even perhaps one he wished for, and the poor kid caught a glimpse of the monster within but with no possible idea of what he was seeing.

It always hurts whenever someone you loved and trusted. Betrays you and everyone else that you love around you. People like Bundy are so consumed with their own sick disgusting ways. That they rarely if ever are considering the consequences of their own actions. Mostly they think "Fuck off, I'll do what I please and there's no one who can or will stop me. Cause I'm better than they are." That is why all of us out there who are acutely aware of such people like Bundy have a responsibility to stop them anyway we can. @@daithiocinnsealach3173 In my opinion Serial Killer Calendar (murderbilia site), Netflix and every other true crime outlet that has made money from Rich's family should cut the dude a cheque. It's not like they haven't made million's from his families pain. Terrible for him. I have no doubt Rich could make good money with his music, the issue being of course dudes would want him in their band solely because of who he is, that or any music he makes is unfairly rejected for the same reason. Seriously, if I won 100 mill in lottery, Rich Bundy is a dude I'm cutting a 1 mill cheque for. He doesn't deserve his current situation. Ted Bundy was truly fucking worthless for everything he did, but pulling his brother down with him was the cherry.

It underscores the tragic weirdness of this kind of evil--with most sorts of extremely violent people, they're just the most extreme examples from a pool of generally awful relations and acquaintances. That someone like Richard could be so evidently pure-hearted, in such close proximity (of both nature and nurture) to someone as evil and cruel as his brother is... almost baffling. And that his brother could genuinely care for, even adore, him or any one human being, while being capable of such dehumanizing violence to others... boggles the mind.

When a very close relative is found to have committed crimes like this, it's very hard to understand and reconcile. You know the person in one light, and then are presented with another side of them you can't even comprehend. You begin to wonder if the person you knew was even real. Was it all an act? How could they do such things? Or are they capable of being nice and good, and also being a despicable monster? It's extremely confusing - you feel disbelief, anger, resentment and eventually a kind of hollow acceptance that doesn't bring any solace. You spend a lot of time thinking about the people they hurt and the things they've done - you kind of become shackled to it in a way.

I agree wholeheartedly. I feel nothing but empathy for Richard, as well as his mother Louise. A living nightmare forced upon them by sheer evil.

Very well said my brother murder somebody. He left there naked dead body in the middle of nowhere. And you wonder if it's real or not because I remember changing his diaper as a baby

I absolutely agree. Everything gets thrown into question, even asking if there's something you could have done. Obviously no one could've stopped Bundy but I bet that thoughts crossed his mind on many occasion.

Having siblings that I love. I can't imagine how hard this would be. It would be really hard to turn years of love and memories off.

Tough for parents and siblings 😢. One of the first things people ask about killers is what was their upbringing like. Imagine if you were a parent that did your best

i’ve watched the full documentary more than 5 times, not for the shock or horror, but for the beauty and dignity it brings to each of the victims, their friends, their families, and their potential, lost. I think we can agree, Rich’s pain is real. His character shines through. May love touch your life, Rich. ☮️
