The bottom line is that Shane Douglas has been talking crap about Ric Flair's life and career for thousand of times while Ric Flair didn't give a sht about Shane's life and career. It's not my place to judge Flair that during his wild years he was stripping his clothes publicly for so many times because that was his life not mine. However it seems like Shane Douglas has been hurt for not being more successful in his career and he's been blaming Flair's taking off his clothes for that.

I've heard Shane put over Flair as THE Legend in the history of the business, and it seemed like he was genuinely concerned about him as a human being. Way to go Shane for finding a life after the business. Much respect!

Shane is extremely down to earth and that’s what I like about him the most. I as far as a performer, he was great on the microphone. I never cared for his matches, but that’s just me. As a real person, he’s seems very cool.

Wrestlers not being able to detach their gimmicks from their personal lives was human/natural and understanding feature for many legends. That's why so many of them passed away also. Ric Flair was fortunate to survive this wild life and Shane Douglas has ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT and POSITION to evaluate and judge Flair not being able to detach from his gimmick. Who the FCK is Douglas? Honestly man, I would love to see Ric and Shane sit down and have an interview together. I truly believe that it would be a good interview and a good conversation for both men. Both seem to be at peace with their lives and happy with everything they've done respectfully. Yes, Ric has had a grander career, but during those years of ECW we all know that it wasn't the best time for Ric. WCW was jackin him around and the business was changing. I did watch that Shane interview a few weeks ago, and yes he told some stories. Are they true, or did that not happen? He was more concerned with Ric not paying attention to his matches and giving him advice in the beginning of his career. Now I never went anywhere in my career, if one could call it that, but I always listened and appreciated the veterans who watch my match and gave me solid pointers, both negative and positive. That's how one learns. From what Shane said, Ric was giving generic "good job" pointers, but turns out he wasn't actually watching the match. Allegedly of course, I wasn't there just going by what Shane said. It was actually a decently positive interview and he didn't seem overly bitter or anything like that as far as trying to throw shade on Ric. But in all serious, I truly do believe that both men sitting down together and having an interview wouldnt be a bad thing. I think alot of fans would actually appreciate that. It's never too late to patch things up and be on good terms. I, as a professional wrestling fan would dig that very much.

That's exactly what I have heard as well about why Shane has a chip on his shoulder regarding Ric Flair. Ric probably just didn't have the time, but should have just said that.

When ric responds to people he deems; ‘less than’ (not direct quote) it actually makes him look defensive & basically solidifies the initial comment(s) made about him in the first place. If he’s truly at peace he’d not even bother defending it. I think Ric just wants people to think he’s at peace.

The rest is just human nature and at least Ric Flair can admit his faults and be at peace with it. More than I can say for most!

He wasn't just dunking on Ric, it's from an interview Shane did and they asked him directly about Ric and his thoughts and opinion about him and why he sees him the way he does, he didn't go out of his way to talk about Ric. His interview was quite interesting and good natured.

He went out of his way to talk about Flair for almost 30 years though...Flair responds and Flair's a POS? I think Flair has spoke about Shane twice, once here and once on an old RF shoot I think. Both times were for a couple minutes. But Shane Douglas has literally made a career as being this big anti-Ric Flair guy because Flair didn't see him do a dropkick off the top or whatever lol.

I believe Shane’s story it actually sounds exactly like something Ric would say and do. Ric sounds half lit too if that’s a surprise.

Not taking a side here BUT ...In Shane's defence A: he was directly asked about Ric and B: he was referring to Rics terrible last match and comments he's made ref wanting to die in the ring and the fact his kids were at the match. I'd be interested to here Rics take on Shane's original comments ref critiquing his matches when he was green.

Ric needs to grow a thicker skin. He is a public figure and one of the greatest and most recognizable wrestlers in history. Whether someone is praising you or criticizing you at least they are talking about you. You will never make everyone like you and you will never keep people from talking about you. Ric is so insecure and for some reason is always looking for validation and he doesn’t need to, that’s usually a narcisist trait especially when they get older.

This heat is real.

I don't think he is shaming him but when a guy can't go three seconds without telling us he could have been a doctor or mentioning medical school it's kind of low hanging fruit for your enemies to pick on.

What, so Troy Martin wants to be a deadbeat father, an unfaithful neglectful husband who spent forty years wasting almost all of his money, not paying his taxes and ruining his friendships with a chronic drink problem to boot? No, I think most people aspire to a better life than that. I am such a "mark" for Ric Flair and proud to be so, but Richard Fliehr is a seriously flawed human being.

Ric Flair deserves his place on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling greats. However, I tend to think Ric Flair thinks he’s far more important than he truly is. I watched the interview and Shane Douglas was asked about Ric Flair and never brought him up in random conversation. I imagine it feeds Ric Flair’s ego to say Shane Douglas brought his name up “thousands of times.” Also, what Shane Douglas said about Ric Flair not being able to distinguish between the character and the real life person is spot on true.

@stonecoldflipper9503 Flair had to sell a lot of his memorabilia, including his hall of fame ring, to make ends meet. While he's a legend in the ring, he's been on a downward spiral outside the ring

Ric has had legendary matches against Race, Rhodes, Steamboat, Hogan, Sting Vader, Michaels, Triple H, Bockwinkle Brody ect I could go on forever. Name one famous match that Douglas has had? That's the difference between them.

Glad to see that after 30 years, Shane has been vindicated. He’s articulate, measured and highly intelligent whereas Flair is horribly entitled, arrogant and has become a complete embarrassment. We got there in the end.

Conrad also treated Shane like shit before he married Flairs fat ugly daughter. So I guess it runs in the family. Shane is extremely measured and intelligent, Ric lost himself in his character years ago.

Shane , is not vindicated, he just couldn't get over. Rick on the other hand. Was entertaining 16 x world champion. Shane could not lace Rick's boots . Not fair it's just the way it is. Shane was average at best

who gets over if the booker is against them? Bischoff made Flair looked like a bum. Shane did fairly well in ECW, the one place where management actually wanted him to succeed. it's a simple as that. no ric, no cliq

good thing Shane Douglas worked at Target because tons of WWE talent has had careers after wrestling. Tito Santana comes to mind.

Shane and Ric won't ever stop beefing with each other as long as people keep asking them questions about it. I doubt either is obsessed with the other but that's what people will ask.

Shane has a real life and a family and is not fueled by chemicals. Shane wins. Period.

You’re kidding, right. Ric is making more money now than ever before. Ric can sell just one of his robes and make more money than Shane can make at BurgerWorld for the next 25 years.

Flair once was “the Man” but now he’s a bum. Who in their right mind aspires to be broke, broken down, and still acting like a frat boy at 73? Hopefully nobody does.

I asked Shane the question because I've legitimately never heard why him and Ric have beef, he gave what I can say was a solid answer to James of WSI (if you haven't already check James out his English accent is like butter for your ears) Ric should go on WSI and talk to my boy James he's got the hard hitting questions plus the face to fill the place!

You can tell like shane was describing, ric never actually listened to what was said or asked. Shane didn't bury him. He was respectful and just gave his honest answer to what he was asked. That's the sad part too is that ric only looks at what he perceives as shit talk towards him but won't admit that he has done it himself more than most about other wrestlers. You can be on top of the world but still be so dim at the same time.

Did Shane "bring him up", or did Shane just answer a question? Because Ric asked Conrad to bring Shane up...but kudos to Conrad, I haven't listened to his podcasts in years, because I can't stand all the ads, but he seems to be genuine - he doesn't shit on Shane, like many interviewers would, in a situation like this and he doesn't kiss Ric's ass.

I hate Ric feels like he has to dump on Shane Douglas and ECW. So what you was a great champion, so was Shane for ECW. So what he worked at Target, atleast he saw the writing on the wall. I enjoy ECW just like I enjoyed TNA and Ric and Booker T always dump on those companies. SO F'N What...
