You need to prep your fabric!.. cut the ends off where white stripes are.. then put the fabric in a bucket of water.. it helps the fabric relax, removes the chemicals and shrinks it.. then hang it to dry.. when dry then iron it.. and add the ribbons.. it makes your work a better quality.. your gonna wash the dress eventually. So am I understanding? Pre shrink the fabric but the ribbon fabric is on going to shrink so we just sew it on as is?

I can’t thank you enough for this video tutorial. I just made my daughter her very first ribbon skirt and it was because of this video that it turned out so well on the first shot. I have never used a sewing machine in my life. Thank you thank you so much for sharing this.

I like her easy instructions too..the other videos get complicated with measurements etc she makes her ribbon skirts nice & easy to make. Making mine this week.

Does the spray make the needle sticky on your sewing machine ?

If I were to get fabric and ribbon from the store, how many yards of each would you say I’d need?

I used Spray & Bond Basting Adhesive (purple and white can) from wal-mart. I sewed and took breaks lol It stuck anyways

I don't have an iron. I'll probably borrow a sewing machine. Lol can I use a hair straightener. I know silly question

505 temporary spray…check stores like walmart, amazon, michaels etc

What kind spray for ribbon

What about the waist?

Can you wear these if you are not indigenous? Everything I've read so far says it binds indigenous women together...
