And now for something a tad bit more time consuming than the Distant Duet thing I just made.
Yep. Sprite editing. Recently been doing some of that, and I'm pretty happy with how this looks. Pixel animation isn't something I do much of (or animation in general really...) but I think this came out ok.
As for the "custom character" here. I basically had to recreate Samurai pixel by pixel. Samurai's rather light on animation though so luckily this wasn't too tough.
In retrospect, this level draws about as much from Super Samurai Slice as the Wii version.
Known Issues:
The sword cutting animation looks off in double speed (I presume in half speed as well but I didn't check)
I do plan on updating the samurai json to make the slice action separate from the ready up pose, so that can always be timed properly.

If Sneaky Spirits had one less beat you could create it 1-1 in this.

I mean Sneaky spirits already did change its cues to 7 beats on some games/remixes, so it's def doable.

Results: I feel like a samurai rested and raring to fight even now! My slices cut clean through the monsters with ease! My heartbeat felt like it was in perfect sync with my slashes! Superb I feel better than ever before, and ready to take on any monster!
Oooh! My favourite 2 games mixed together so perfectly that it could be an actual rhythm doctor level!

I copied the regular miss anim, but replaced the ghost with a spirit. I've tested it so I think it should work.
