Ғылым және технология

Rheinmetall MAN truck to reach altitude of 6,690 m. Off-road team aims to beat world record in Chile. A team including extreme sportsman and off-road expert Matthias Jeschke is seeking to set a new world record for high-altitude driving. Equipped with two Rheinmetall MAN HX trucks, they intend to reach the highest point in the world accessible to vehicles.
On 28th November 2017 in the early morning the expedition team managed to pass the rock channel (rock furrow) towards the assembly place of the first rescue hut on a height of 6,100 metres. Due to the difficult terrain it took the team several days to clear the route from ice and stones. “Incredible”, reports Matthias Jeschke, “how the HX 6x6 truck has performed fully loaded with expedition equipment, spare tires, drinking water and of course the rescue hut, especially as the gradient is partially 100% with sandy, rocky and icy underground.”
