The only problem with this being live is that Flea’s tone is much more shallow and “slappy” when the studio version is deeper and richer. I think the more rich tone works better with this song, personally.

Its the kick drowning the bass guitar, not there fault. Its the engineer. Kick was way to over powering.

Propably in the recording he is using the real thing (MM Stingray). I read few years back that Musicman refused to make him a signature stringray model (company policy, not only for Flea) so he is since using Stringray copies from Modulus and now Fender at least in live situations.

I agree, looking forward to the new album coming out but I felt that Josh was totally coming into his own as a chili pepp. I felt there was still so much to be done with him. Nobody deserves to be thrown out from one day to the next. He basically helped them survive another decade.....pero bueno, nimodo. Haber que tranza.

Watching Chad play is like watching a heart beat. Such smooth precision.

Ya know, what's so cool about rhcp, is that they at least look like they still enjoy what they do, whereas some older bands, let's say Metallica for example, at many of their shows you can just tell that they simply don't give a s*** anymore, it's just a job 😂 I think Anthony and flea will be bouncing around for as long as their bodies will allow. God bless these guys, I grew up on them and I'm 42 and they've managed to remain somewhat relevant for all of these years 👍

Love this song. The bridge soars above. The guitar work is a breath of fresh air.

nfh08 i think it his his style to go all out really, just like every other pepper. They keep it simple in studios, and when they go all out in live shows they become 100% more badass. And thats why the fans love it. Many bands nowadays perform the way they do in studio. The Peppers are definitely the most energetic rock band to perform live on stage

Yeah! Nicely done. Bass could have been mixed up a little, but overall, killer.

Damn it I'll miss Josh!!!! I needed one more album with him. Getaway was a great album and he had found his place and sound. Songs like Dark necessities, goodbye angels, encore, dreams of samurai are better than many songs with John. It's such a shame we will not get one more album with him, it could be an absolutely bomb! P. S I love both of them!
