Good choice on ESC & radio gear. It's a Hobbywing 1080 ESC combined with a Flysky GT5 Transmitter & receiver I have in both my FTX Mauler, as well as my new still getting built Traxxas TRX4 sport :-) Definitely good to use the Flysky GT5, as you mention, it has a memory function so you can program end points etc per model :-)

Yes wow you are spot on, the convenience factor of the GT5 make it worth its price alone! The massive range of adjustability is a bonus!!
How does this compare to the ridge rock? Someone has one locally used. Considering purchasing it or a new ridgerock. Any thoughts based on your experience with both? Thanks!!

Totally different animals here. Both worth their respective prices but deliver very different results. Ridgerock is probably the most bang for the buck but the RGT is a really nice realistic rig. The Ridgerock will out crawl the RGT in its sleep but it lacks big time in appearance. Depends on what is more important to you. If the RGT is good condition used idk if I’d pay more than $120 for it vs a new Ridgerock though. Either will be fun 👍
Wow you spent more on the ESC & Transmitter than the truck is worth! I have had 3 RGTs and in every case as soon as the front bumper gets a TINY impact it breaks the body. The body is so thin it is unusable.
