Vegas separates the men from the boys hahaha. I too had a gig there recently and had to do an inclusion group for my g10 ears but i actually just let them run wide open and instead told the Axient that they couldn’t operate anywhere in the g10/g57 overlap band. I was actually super nervous because the scans were atrocious maybe worse than yours but the gig somehow went fine. I’ll have to start trying pad’s on the belt packs! 😮 Could you do a video sometime on the possible conflicts that may show up in red in the analyze window and when to worry and when to not worry? Specifically the different channel spacing conflicts ? I use my own common sense which has got me through all of my gigs just fine but I’d love to learn more and feel better about when to worry about the red and when not to.

Nice! Excellent punts! Thanks for the video suggestions. I'll see what I can come up with!

I would love this! I was just working earlier today and the in house crew had 72 excluded frequencies for me 🤦 needless to say, I only got red after I hit calculate. I got no interference on my meters luckily but still, WWB did not seem happy

Trying to understand the Pad better. Are you applying a pad on all receivers (P10 body pack and Axient receiver) in order to make them less sensitive to other RF sources in your environment? Also, you like to keep your PSM transmitters at 10mw. Not sure I understand how having a lower signal strength is beneficial??? I'm fairly new to the RF world. Studio guy who has found himself running monitors for a rock band on tour. After last week's gig at an Air Force Base (cue Spinal Tap) I've realized I can't rely on the sound company alone for RF coordination. Thanks.

Good questions! So the goal in the RF game is to reduce the noise floor and have a signal-to-boise that is sufficient for radio transmission. Using pads on RECEIVING antennas or (inline pad) for mics, instruments, etc... in some " nosy" environments helps us achieve a lower noise floor with enough RF signal from the mics, packs. Same thing for IEM's...sometimes engaging the pad on the IEM pack will help reduce the noise floor issues. As far as the transmit power (10mW), believe it or not 10mW is a LOT of power seeing that we are just trying to transmit 20-100' max. Remember the need to reduce the noise floor...your mics and IEM transmitters contribute to that "noise". By using just enough transmit power , we can further optimize a cleaner RF coordination space. I'm a bit nerdy about doing my own coordination even when there is someone who coordinated. When there is a issue with RF, my artists will look at me...not the vendor. I like to take responsibility and not pint a finger. In order to mitigate this, I will often ask that the vendor have the WWB file open on a laptop so I can review the file. Hope all f this helps!

@@NicholasRadina Yes thanks. That is making sense. Do you scan again just before the show? I'm finding the environment can change from soundcheck at 1 pm to show time at 9 pm.

@@RyanWilliamsMusic Yes. I always keep my eye on the receiving units, looking for new RF activity. During line-check, I'll make sure all IEM transmitters ar off, (and wireless packs, mics), load up my CUE pack with all the IEM freqs, then go out tot he stage and scroll through the mixes, keeping an eye on any RF activity.

Hey Nicholas how’s it going fan of your work!! Big question 🙋‍♂️ I’ve been using WWB for years now never had any issues. But just last week every time I hit “Scan” I would get a pop up saying WWB doesn’t have any memory or storage space to scan. I uninstalled the application and re did it all and still happens. Can you help me out? Thank you 🙏🏼

Hi! Thanks for the kind words! I’ve never experienced that issue with WWB. Very strange. Are you on a Mac or Windows? Shure has excellent customer support for WWB. I’d jump on a call with them and see if they can help you sort it out. Let us know how it goes!

Yea I’m on running on MacBook… idk if maybe my computer isn’t allowing for it to pull memory from the computer. Very strange but thanks for the reply!! Keep up the good content I’m sure a lot of us would like to see you do more videos of your frequency coordination vids!!! Talk soon keep you posted on updates

@@NicholasRadina hey there 🙌🏼 so I found the issue funny too hehe. My Ethernet cable was pinched in my travel case and damaged the wire! WWB was reading the wireless but couldn’t scan due to the damaged cable! Swapped it out with a new and ready go rock!! Tip of the day always watch your cables hehe 😅😅😅
