People Don’t forget This is not Ed’s first Rodeo He’s been an accomplished tradesman for many years 🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
Ed builds it. KZread criticizes it from their couches, what a world 😅

Sad isn't it? Edd is a master builder and people try and compare to DIY enthusiasts like Dan. He isn't in the same skillet league as Edd
Seeing the close up of the metal rods and blocks..with your explanation...made us feel like we were there! I enjoyed that.. Loving the process!!
It is good to see all of the Chateau Owners know and support each other. I am so happy that each of you are doing well. I found each of you thanks to Escape to the Chateau DIY. We enjoy following your journeys.
Thanks for the shoutout to Dan! All these vids are very educational.
Tell you what fans of this channel you don't get a job done like Edd gets a job done! He's done so much progress in a short space of time it's unbelievable! And the concrete flooring all by hand instead of a easy pour! Edd mode is the one! And I'm learning so much for my own future projects in my home! ❤

I hear you have company coming soon!!! Two families together will be a fun few days for all of you!!! Crack on!!!😄
Thank you for your gracious patience to explain things more than once for those of us that missed it. It may not feel fast to you, but it’s incredible how much this space has changed since you first showed it to us.
As much as I enjoy watching you guys buttering concrete blocks, I am really looking forward to seeing you with Billy and family 🎉❤❤

Meeeee toooooo!!!
...the inspector is coming and it isn't Anna this time... Great line, Edd! Good work, hard work. Really glad you guys were able to get those steel beams installed without injury to yourselves. That little house is going to be very special, when it is finished.
Edd and Louis, to me, you are both doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work.❤
Nothing better than noggin with Dan 😂😂😂😂 K🇬🇧❤️❤️

I'm impressed that the brickwork is going to support all the upper floor. Not using the stone wall at all. Well thought Ed.
Ah, so you do know that we who watch Dan Preston all love Nogging Day ! Can't wait to see you match his skills !

Match his skills? Ha ha Edd exceeds the building skills where Dan is having a good go whilst being a DIY enthusiast

Ed would be great for giving advice, especially now that Dan is building a complicated roof structure
Who’s Dan Preston 😂😂😂 Ed has a god sense of humour on the QT 👍
Hey. Guys, enjoy your weekend with Gwen and Billy! That dealer friend of yours who had those balloon 🎈 upholstered chairs, and those 6 dining room chairs, had some great stuff! Cheers!🎉 Thomas!
It’s wonderful seeing your progress on this project.
Edd, you're so patient with your viewers! I'm learning a lot about construction in France & it's so interesting. Thanks for being a good teacher & for recognizing the limitations out here😂. Bravo! Look how far you've come!!!❤
It looks wonderful, Edd and I trust your engineering skills!!!
Love how Lui cares for his Ed 😂❤ gloves Ed 🧤 naughty naughty lol lol so adorable Really... I'm here to check in to see how it's coming along 🤗 Knowing Ed and Anna this Is going to be so beautiful 😍 When it's all finished 🙌👌
Your ideas are perfect, you can renovate my home any day.
Who doesn't watch every video? Who doesn't click like? Come on people... It costs nothing
Glad Louis got a break to play Spielberg, good job 👏
ROFL what's a noggin? It must be such a good feeling to have the walls tied in, you can sleep easy knowing the roof and façade are stable and the back wall is secure. Good job Edd!
I love watching other people work it’s so therapeutic right Louis especially when it’s Ed
Gloves gloves gloves! Well done Edd! Protect those hands! The project is coming along very nicely!!👏
Your doing a great job on rebuilding the place.👍
What are noggins I did laugh 😅 Nice that you are explaining everything you are doing Edd. Yep totally agree it would be like an oven with glass, Plus it will be nice to go outside and enjoy with a glass of wine , and relax. YAY Edd end of dry January today so Salute🍷🍷 Loved watching Edd Anna and Louis 🥰
Gee Edd - you actually know what you’re doing! You are soooo patient explaining things after comments.
great update, thanks Ed. I hope you and Loui will be singing the Noggin Song!
Blessings Ed and Anna. 😊
Excellent explanations, I do appreciate when you stop to discuss the varying techniques used and the reasons for doing so.
I like an outdoor space, even if it is minimal but it helps to fill up with plants ant to air the house. So exciting to see the beams up there, nice height for them too!
Good morning. Good to see you guys again.😊👍
Doing a great job love this slowly coming back to life these buildings are so full of potential.
Beautiful progress and episode! Thank you all very much! Be well, stay safe all.😊💞👍
Yes sir the more support and noggins you put in the more sturdy the 2nd floor will be,make less noise and last for many years.😬
An outdoor walled patio is a wonderful small space. Fill it with plants and a wonderful place to sit and read, what an amazing spot to have. You’re doing such a great job. Thank you for sharing.
👉 Eeeek - - did I hear you say that the "little room" where the washing machine will be is NOT going to be heated ??? Where I lived in Victorville, the washer dryer was in the garage. The excess heat/cold seasonally in the high desert made using the utility an event that had to be planned around the weather conditions. Oh well, I suppose you didn't have a choice and the resident can always plug in a space heater if it's really cold. (ps - RIGIDITY is a word.) 😊
Edd, you are doing a great job! Just think: in another 120 years, someone could find your good work. 😊
Definitely know what noggin day is with Dan 😂 getting the job done for sure.. Louie youre a great camera man 😊
You and Louie are moving right along. Your an awesome builder. Just look at the castle .
It`s coming along real nice steady Eddy, we got screwy Louie on the camera, Ed you don`t have to explain everything you are doing to us, it is quite obvious building codes in France and the U.S.A. are quite different, so be it. When I am working with rough wood I will wear gloves, but otherwise they drive me crazy when I am using a screwgun or hamering nails, demolition always, but I like to feel things with my hands. Keep the videos coming Ed, it`s nice to see things moving forward and the demo work done, take care guys.
Absolutely love your channel . I love people like you all that really live life full out.😊🎉
Amazing as always, Edd and Louie. Have fun with the Pethericks this weekend!
Send Billy and Gwen home with some good wine 🍷
Things are coming together! I enjoy these videos. Peace
I‘m sure the material and method he uses, is structural sound, Edd has done it before so I wouldn‘t worry to much about it
Happy to have a noggin day❤
I enjoy your vlogs so much Anna and Ed! The only thing you can say...at least there're watch the vlogs!?! It just amazes me how folks think they can second guess all the chateau owners! Some people fail to grasp; it is your investment and reputation! Thank you, for including us on this journey. It will be so beautiful, an asset to the neighborhood and community!
Don’t worry Edd. Over on Dan’s site they were all fussing that he needed some of the equipment you were using awhile ago.
It'll be nice to have a private outdoor space where you can just step out and breath the open air. So I agree with no roof. Should also help with air circulation down stairs.
Everyone's an expert, eh? I admire your patience in answering the repeated questions from armchair critics. I so enjoyed the development of the 'passionate project' and I'm enjoying watching the progress of this property although I can't quite visualise it yet. I'm looking forward to the next update.
Nice work Edd! ❤ love how you are making the walls safe & strong!❤
Truth.477 then clearly you have not watched Dan! In earnest though, they are both definitely talented and work the job of three men! Also thank you Louie for your humor and patience with Ed’s jokes all whilst cracking on!!
Super job, super vidéo, bravo à toute l'équipe.
“Who is Dan Preston?” 😂😂
Will be nice to have a 2nd patio on the 2nd floor.👍
Thankyou for sharing another wonderful vlog. Your vision is becoming reality as progress is exceptional. 😘😘
The patio area will look great without glass over it . With glass over it, I'd feel like im in a terrarium 😳 🪴😳 🌳 lolol
I trust you completely that you are doing the right thing.
Omg noggins like in rural France !
0:37 Its all coming together, Ed!
I watch Dan every day and I have to say i wondered about the noggins too lol
Billy will do a thorough inspection but he will not find anything to find fault with as Ed is a perfectionist and certainly knows what he is doing ❤
What’s a noggin 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Great job all around. Enjoy your weekend with Billy and family 😍😘
It’s a good idea to get the inspection, it’s better than having to remove all your hard work at the end if the inspector finds a problem. I hope they will approve what you’ve done so far. Have fun with your company. I’ll see you on your next Vlog.

Edd and Louie my crew. Progress is the name of the game. You guys are doing a great job. Looking forward to tomorrow. Until then please take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🌞🙏🌈👍🌹🕊🇺🇸😇❤️
lol! I thought about the noggins too! 🤣🤣
I appreciate you explaining why you do it the way you do, especially when not the same as some of us do it in our country. It's interesting to see how things are done differently in other countries, but a bonus when you show us why etc. Always good for expanding our knowledge on variations of things.
Be safe and careful.😊👍🙏
Never boring …progress and overcoming surprises ….worth watching
Oh! I've had to stop the video as soon as you said, "What are noggins?" I'm laughing out loud! Good one, Edd!
Thank you Edd for information about the beam construction…
The cement blocks in France are interesting
I think you and Anna are magicians.💖
great work and you know how to build your a pro after all these yrs if people watched all your vids they'd know 😘
You really had a good workout today. Glad you had some help. Looking forward to see the roof. Great job Love watching your show
I love the progress, Edd.
Looks dandy guys … Super good luck with the inspection 🧐 🙏🙏❤
Always nice to have a private patio space to go out on on nice days and evenings.😊👍
I love the humour of these guys. Terrific project!
9:23 always exciting to get wood up. I see Anna instructed Louis to get a bum shot at the start of the video.
Everything is looking very beautiful has a great blessing and wisdom greetings from Springfield Massachusetts for you and your beautiful family and especially to Louis blessings
It sure is a treat to see this home blossoming into a structure that is recognizable and so quickly! I have to say at the beginning of this, I wondered if it was possible to make it habitable. I should have know you could perform yet another miracle Edd! Well done!
I was wondering how you were attaching the new wall to the old, thanks for explaining.
👍🏾 Great job, Edd it’s looking good!
It’s interesting how different building products are in France compared to the states. Maybe that’s where people get confused? Idk I never questioned it, you know what you’re doing and I enjoy learning 😊
Looking forward to Billy’s inspection tomorrow
It would be easier maintenance also to simple sweep out the uncovered courtyard than climb on top of a glass overhang and clean it. It will be a delightful open air space.
Yes, I know what noggins are. I’ve watched so many DIY KZreadrs like yourself Ed 😁
beautiful It will be.
Butter is better, holes not as good. But, whatever, thank you for explaining all that info on the outdoor space. We do like to know about this stuff.
Who is Dan Preston 😅 He is the noggin man, baby 😅
Thanks for the further explanation about the beam, Ed 👍. from Spud - aka Mike S 😉.
You are so patient explaining why you did this or didn’t do that! I just like watching you make this ruin into a beautiful house! Good work great videos. Thanks.
Noggins= Blocking; to prevent twist overturn of the joists/beams
We know who your “inspector “ is - he’s already told us he’s visiting! Wink, wink! No, not Dan Preston! 😂

I appreciate your explanations as you progress. I did not realize how much building materials and techniques vary around the world. So informative!
