Reviving a dead battery for PS3/PS4 move motion controllers

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If your move motion controller does not charge. You can use a power supply to charge it with constant current (CC) mode.

    If you have a good battery, you could probably just use two pins to connect the two batteries together.. assuming the other battery is good and fully charged. That might give it enough power so that the controller recognizes it and accepts a charge.

    I was experiencing the same issue with my all 3 move controllers. So I just left them charging all day, now all 3 works just fine.

    I had several Move controllers with this same issue (worked fine when plugged in but wouldn't charge & would shut off instantly when unplugged) and I was able to revive all of them just by using the official PS Move charging dock (model CECH ZCC1). Not sure why this works, but it does 🤷‍♂️. So potentially this is something cheap & easy to try before resorting to disassembling the controller - the charging docks are very cheap (the secondhand one I bought was US$10 shipped on eBay).

    An easy solution would be to buy a replacement battery and replacement the old one inside the controller with the new one. Charging it for 30 hours won't work because once you have this problem, the battery just won't accept any current. The same problem occurs in PS3 navigator too, if you are interested, you can watch my latest video about it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fa5qq5qQkZzTpqg.html

    Sorry, another thing I've noticed on some other sites they mention about freezing the battery after the first full charge after the battery has woken up, is this important or necessary? What is this for? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

    To be honest, I have never heard of the freezing method before. After reading a bit more online, it seems that that there is no scientific proof to it. So I think it won't work. chemistry.stackexchange.com/questions/5471/reviving-li-ion-battery-in-freezer

    In this case, your controller is broken. It might be a bad USB connector or a faulty controller board.

    @@hardwarerepair200 I had the same issue. We didn't use these controllers for many years, when I tried connecting them recently.. red light was blinking and power was not staying. when I plug the cable, it works fine and as soon as I disconnect the cable it turns off. I have this problem for PS3 controller, move and navigation controllers. I ordered respective replacement batteries and replaced all the betteries. Still the same issue, it says fully charged but when I unplug the cable it turns off. I thought may be the battery quality was not good, and planned to return it..After seeing this video, now I get it. How do we revive the battery from house? I don't have the device that you are showing in the video. Is there any way to wake up the battery to charge? Thanks

    My move battery was blinking for about an hour, than after that the light will go off. But still do not turn on when the button pressed. It will on go on when the cable plugged directly to the ps3. What is the possible problem sir? Do you think i can still revive the battery?

  • @hardwarerepair200

    @hardwarerepair200

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, it sounds possible to revive the official battery. But you need a power supply that could supply at least 35V. You don't need a high current, just a high voltage with 0.01A current limit. Once you turned on the power supply in CC mode set to 0.01A, you will see that the voltage goes up to 35V and drops back to 2-3V very quickly. But be careful not to exceed 0.01A throughout the process. Otherwise it might be dangerous.

    @@AbeRemindingYTOfficial If you have a proper power supply with constant current (CC) mode, 35V is quite safe. But if you don't have a power supply, generating 35V yourself is super dangerous. So better don't try it if you don't have a proper power supply.
